Perris Raceway will close on Jan 30 and our last day will be to host the Swapmoto Race Series. Until then we will be open our regular weekly schedule. A couple threads have been posted. New ownership taking over, so I believe the "last day" they are referencing is just the last day the current ownership will have control of the facility.

ML mentions in the thread he is going to be interviewing the new ownership.

I interviewed the new management group yesterday and am editing up the interview today. The facility is not closing, in fact there's some pretty awesome plans to bring it back to its glory days. Ownership change is Feb 1st.

It will be closed for the first two weeks of February as the the tracks are getting fully renovated, new equipment coming in, fixing fencing and a few other minor upgrades before re-opening to the public.

People being loose with their choice of words and failure to comprehend is a common issue nowadays and can have big implications. This exact type of thing basically caused us to lose a track here. The old operators, and a prospective new operator, spread half-truths and bunk info around. Once the average MX'ers latched onto this info and started repeating it as fact and truth and spreading it all over social media the damage was basically done. Essentially, the BS could not be put back in the box nor the damage undone. The BS and half-truths essentially became the truth.

So you're saying that Perris is closed and someone you know, who knows someone who knows, says State Fair is closing too because they are the same owners and they hate pollution and won't allow gasoline bikes anymore because of no red stickers in CA?
