Why doesn't Team France drop Paulin and keep Musquin in the MX2 and put Pourcel in the MX1 group with Frossard in MX3?

All I've heard is whether they will/would drop Musquin for Pourcel... but maybe they should drop Paulin... why not?

I personally think that would be a better team than Paulin, not trying to be disrespectful to him, but just thinking about the team's best chance to win.

Thoughts?

edit: also it really grinds my gears every time Weege pronounces his name "Moose-key-awn"

You would think the announcers would take time to learn how to say the names of the front runners

Drop Musquin for Pourcel were the talkings from the past 2 weeks. Since Steel City, a lot of people want to drop Paulin. I'm for this second option since the "revival" of CP...

For those who know a little French and German, we pronounce Musquin "mÜsk - un".

"Ü" like in German, "un" like the number "one" in French.

It has been discussed in other threads. But basically, Gautier on a 450 doesn't make sense to anybody.
He has raced in MX2 all season. So the team he is leaving at the end of the season needs to build him a 450.
Compare that to Marvin on a factory bike, and CP on a dialed bike.

The team manager has said the team is not set in stone yet, I would be very surprised if CP is not on the team in two weeks, Frossard and Pourcel is a very strong combination, either Paulin or Musquin would be good in MX2 now that Marvin is showing glimpses of his previous form.

I think Pourcel for Paulin would be the best choice to make. Paulin will be fine, but you cant leave CP out when he's in the form he's in now. The trouble is, Oliver Robert the team manager asked Rinaldi Yamaha to prep a 450 for Paulin especially... so it probably makes his decision even harder.

If any of the initial three riders lose out to Pourcel, they'll be devastated. Its a tough situation.

Seems it's not gonna change, except if an injury occurs.

So it'll be Frossard - Paulin - Musquin.

I don't really see why Musquin is a better choice than Paulin. He's scored a 3-3 ok but the last few weeks was less than impressive. That's not a dig you can't come back from those injuries straight away race fit.

Paulin did great at St jean, is solid and consistent, strong physically. Musquin will have to deal with the jet lag and travel in a week. He'll have to get on a slightly different bike to his US bike...

Hard to take it away from any of those guys... Bad enough being dropped from the team but even worst when it's MXON on your team

One more race on each side of the pond. If I were the manager I wouldn't change the line up until after that race. Too much opportunity for bruised ego if somebody gets dropped and then reinstated because of injury. Plus it will give him one more race to see where Marvin and Christophe are.

He'll have the US bike ('cause they can use the US fuel)...

It's a shame I wont be able to watch CP at St Jean but in the other hand I really like Paulin and I look forward to what can he do on that 450.

Like I said, without any mechanical problems or bad crash, USA will prevail. Do you see Paulin smoking RV or RD?

No.

Next.

We'll see, Gauthier is a bad man on a 450.

Maybe so but Musquin is racing a much harder series.

Last year in Thunder Valley (US MXoN), Paulin (on a 450F) set the fastest lap of all week-end and all categories with a 2'10''352.

Not so bad.

He rode the 450 at MXDN before hasn't he? If I remember correctly he did well. Paulin is a pretty big boy, if it was my choice I would pick Musquin because he is starting to come around and he still has a couple of weeks to get even better. This is not a dis on paulin either(he hauls ass) I saw him at the USGP.

I must have missed that too,Paulin is actually better on the 450 but those spots could favour CP and Frossard, and Musquin might be the better bet on the 250 than Paulin after this weekend, its gotta be all down to how CP and MM both get on in their next races surely, might not be the nicest decision but could boil down to buisness

Edit:sorry started my post before that article was posted and returned to finish it,that's settled then

He had his chance this summer and decided against it.

LOL. Sure thing. But I 'd like to see CP in that team and see what he can do. Paulin hauls mail on a 450, no doubt, but he won't hold RD/RV in my opinion. Unless the track is very particular.

Putting Pourcel on that team would be the same as putting Stewie on the team last year. Pourcel has done nothing to deserve a spot, besides put up a couple of decent results of late. BIg fucking deal. Tony doesn't have to beat him right now. If they put him on that team, good luck getting riders next year. They have a great team, a team that deserves to be there, and that counts IMHO.

Paulin fits a 450 better than a 250 and rides it really well so I don't see how him on a 450 doesn't make sense? I think right now the best team would probably be CP MX1 GP MX2 and SF MX3, but Marvin is starting to get stronger from his injuries so If it stays the way it is right now I think they will be just fine.
