Since this will be my first time coming to Vegas, where does everyone mostly stay at in Vegas for the MEC?

Depends on the budget. High rollers like the Hard Rock but us working stiffs stay closer to the stadium to save some dinero.

I think a lot of people stay at The Cromwell hotel. I believe the after party is there also.

For the first time here are some things to do:

1) Olympic Garden (bring your singles)
2) The Gun Store (they rent machine guns)
3) Tour of Hoover dam (not to be missed)
4) Stratosphere (top floor view and rollercoaster on top!)
5) Make sure you leave Vegas with both kidneys (horror call girl stories)

Staying at the Eastside Cannery. Great deal through Priceline. Stayed at the Sunset Station and Fiesta Henderson in the past and they are within 5 mi. of Sam Boyd and nice.

Consider "The Linq" aka the old Imperial Palace. It was remodeled a few years ago and is relatively inexpensive given that its in the heart of Las Vegas BLVD. You can take a taxi anywhere or you can use their extremely confusing, small, and poorly laid out parking lot if you rent a car. Just take a taxi.

Oh man youre going to be so disappointed

Vegas is Vegas
But Sam Boyd sucks
It's on the outskirts
It's small
If they didn't go outside the stadium? It'd be arenacross
It takes people like you to get subjected to this bullshit for the sport to make money

what boogles my mind ( I almost wrote bogle lol) is with hosting 2 mx events at Sam Boyd it's the same crowd they're advertising too , how is it so packed? You'd think no one (with any brains) would go back after being Duped to come there! So it must be new blood every event! This event is filled with the people who couldn't get tickets last time - the people who got tickets last time will never come again!

(Unless you love run down stadiums you think are in Vegas, but really aren't)

I'll never go to Sam Boyd again unless they tear it down and rebuild it in the Las Vegas part of Las Vegas - not a few towns over !! Fuck was I pissed when I found out the track was in butt fuck compared to the strip? What a rip

I always stay at south point. It's nice and close enough to everything but far away enough at the same time.

My wife and I stayed at the Luxor for the last round of SX in 2010. We caught a cab to Sam Boyd, then on the way out there was a mile long line for taxi's and shuttle busses back to the strip. Me, her, 3 dudes from California, and 2 chicks from Texas walked back to the strip from the stadium at 2 am.....

Let me tell you that part of Vegas is not the place you want to be after dusk.....

I agree the Stratosphere is a must see but the roller coaster is gone, it was lame and has been replaced with several rides that will scare you really bad!! If you haven't been up there in a while you need to go up and try the new rides and if you are afraid of heights like I am it will get your legs shaking Wink We have been to Hoover dam several times and will go again,we haven't been there since the new bridge opened so looking forward to that. We stay at either New York New York or the Mirage. I really miss going to the Super Bowl of SX in the MGM grand, that was a fun race.

I have done all the rides but the bungee jumping at the stratosphere. The roller coaster was dumb but the rest are good especially at night. Seemed like a good idea at the time. Hotel wise I usually stay at the the New York New York or the MGM. Both have more eating areas that I can afford.

I spend at least 2 weeks a year in Vegas for work. Courtyard across from the Convention Center is a solid spot. Right on the Monorail so you can get to pretty much anything and not pay the on the strip prices. Easy shot in and out of town to Sam Boyd.

We stayed at the Hard Rock when we went a few years ago. Got to meet a few riders there coincidentally and there was a live band and pretty cool party going on.

Would recommend.

You must have been so disappointed when you found out Cowboys Stadium is in Arlington or New York Giants stadium is in New Jersey.
There's not many stadiums in downtown anywhere. It's way better than the US open was in the MGM grand!

Dang, I didnt know it was possible to hate a race so much.

Yeah sam boyd isnt the greatest but ive never been to a race where the crowd is so into it, ive been 3 times now and every year the crowd is on their feet the whole time. Maybe theyre just drunk, but any other supercross people only get into it if there is a pass for the lead or someone crashes.

Leaving the stadium does suck if you stay for the whole race. Ive always left midway through the main and had no issue getting out

Rock,

Olympic Gardens????? Really????? When is the last time you were in Vegas? Hell you might as well send him to Larry's Villa (DO NOT GO THERE) You might want to upgrade and hit Sapphires, Spearmint Rhino, or Larry Flynt's Hustler club...

Better question is when is the last time I've been to the OG? About four years.

I've been in Vegas at least once a year for a long time but now would rather save my money than waste it at a Gentlemen's Club. However if the mood strikes in the future will check out one of your suggestions. Thanks

I'm gonna agree with the suggestion to just hit up Hotwire/Expedia/ect if you really don't have a preference.

I've gone to MEC every year since 2013 & the SX finals twice & never stayed at the same place. It really just depends on what experience you are looking for. I've stayed @ Vdara, MGM, Palms Place, Flamingo & a few more. All were great. Vdara & Palms Place don't have a casino inside them which makes them a bit less busy but still in the mix of things.

Per the MEC website the free shuttle to the track departs from the Linq & the host hotels look like Luxor & The Palms. The 2016 SX finals after party was at the Palms. MEC 2015 after party was at Drai's & there's always a good race crowd at Circle Bar @ Hard Rock if that's your selling point.

Vegas final 2007, We stayed on the strip, Hilton actually.

Got a Taxi to the stadium and after the race grabbed one of the many shuttles back to the strip, yes we waited 1/2 an hour, but easy.

I thought the stadium was good, clean, safe.
Small stadium, enthusiastic capacity crowd made it fantastic.

F%/ $ing freezing when the sun went down!

X2.... That's the trick I always have my friends that come see me or when I used to come here to party. Any of the multiple Marriott by the convention center on paradise have access to the monorail and the strip and you aren't paying 300 a night for dump like the Hardrock.

I went last year , drove down and bought a ticket on the day, it was right next to the track which was good for up close but couldn't see all the racing.
Drove there from the villa we stayed in using the Sat nav which went to take me in the main entrance but I noticed cars going in another way before hitting the queue, which was behind all the riders rigs ,no queue and way cooler entrance!!
And had a really good night just missing the rain also.

Stayed at the Luxor last year for MEC. Cheaper rates compared to allot of the places on the strip. Little advice though is maybe look into renting a limo the night of the race if you have a group of people to split the cost with. That's what our buddy's did last year and was lucky enough to hop a ride with them after the race. Otherwise it takes forever getting out of there or waiting for a shuttle back to the strip

Get a nice room on the strip. It's worth it.
