Don’t know if anyone else has seen the twitter fight between Langston and Matthes, apparently It stems from some unkind words on the Whiskey Throttle show. Kind of funny GL is upset about Matthes talking politics on PulpMX then goes on to say Whiskey Throttle outperformed Pulp on YouTube like Spotify and Apple Podcasts don’t exist, kind of life a certain politician pretending mail in votes don’t exist.

Tbh I’m disappointed in the pettiness from GL, you know it’s going badly when a former Pro MXer is chirping people on Twitter over their follower count or pfp. Just childish as hell.

It’s a bummer. I’m a huge Matthes, Ping and GL fan.

It seems GL and Ping have a huge chip on their shoulder regarding all things pulp. Matthes even mentioned recently he was trying to get GL back on the show.

I’m not sure if GL and Ping are super competitive and still have a racers mentality, but this is podcasting. They can co-exist. It would grow both shows if they went on each others show. Maybe time to just ignore things you don’t agree with.

A friend told to check that tweet, now lost all respect for GL.

I know Tapia personally. Really good guy, and all around a great family. I was a huge GL fan, now he can try to blow that bear I posted.

Racing or riding without insurance is dumb. That is not up for debate, nor is it controversial

Yeah I was wondering if the dudes posting the bears had a clue what was going on..that was serious statement GL said and should not be taken lightly. Super F'd up. I was just getting over the Bonds resentment I had against him but now theres no F'ing way I wanna listen to him broadcast the MX races.

Problem is, he had insurance. Look at Tapia’s twitter where he explains.

But to me, in a world where he didn’t have insurance, there is a time and place. You don’t say that to someone who is re-learning how to walk as we speak.

Insurance is and can be very expensive unfortunately.
I went years without it while going through my apprenticeship and being broke throughout much of it. Not everyone makes a mint racing yet alone working construction in my case. Sometimes, it comes down to food, bills and next to nothing left over.

I hate to say it but I’ve never met a SA that I liked. Don’t know what it is with them, you say chip on their shoulder I say ego issues ... would love a SA to prove me wrong.

(Actually really liked Rob Herring but he’s British at this point 😂)

Yup. I completely retract my first comment. I have no issue admitting I was wrong.

Health insurance in general is a very political matter. This is the only first world country where it’s not seen as a right.

Politics only comes between people when either side assumes they're right and you're an idiot..
I don't listen to Pulp or Whiskey but Ping has done exactly that more than once in here..

So I'm Team Matthes haha

I really like GL and Albertyne, but as far as experience with SAF's, i agreed to play golf with a couple of the arrogant pricks once and after 9 holes of him telling me how to play golf when i was much better than he was... I felt like swinging the putter through his and his mates teeth haha

GL can beat his drum all he wants but PulpMX is king of quality audio, quality variety and quality content. I couldn’t get through all of Whiskey Throttle’s three part Reed series due to the horrible audio quality and GL interrupting all the time to bring himself into any story Reed was trying to get out. I’ve not really listened to another of their shows since.
The Tapia comment. Poor taste and bad timing Pinch

Drama aside, if you're able (or somewhat manage) to afford to race at a competitive and dangerous level, you can also be able (or manage) to get insurance before doing so otherwise you're playing your chances. One thing is riding trails and another racing balls out.

What’s the payout for an average privateer? Factor in travel expenses from state to state plus, bike related maintenance and everything else. I’d bet some are paying out of pocket just to make it to the races.

Just reading through Langston’s comments and replies on Twitter, it’s hard to assume that he is anything but an immature and inconsiderate cunt

Well...

One things for sure, none of them look clever for participating.... Sound like teenage girls giving each other shit over who's got the most followers.

Crikey.

Geez, we just got over the Forkner tweets and now another thread bringing out the pitchforks...

...GL was right about the insurance, Matthes was generous to help raise money 🤷🏼‍♂️

You owe it to yourself but even more so to your friends and family to not race motocross with out insurance. They are the people who will have to dig you out of the hole you made for yourself. I don’t think there’s any country in the world where insurance for accidents on a motocross track is a basic human right. You have the right to pay for it. GL may have chosen a bad moment/way to say this but he is absolutely correct. Apart from that, Whiskey Throttle is a good show and I’m sure it hits the spot for some people but they are nowhere near to Matthes’ level.

Im a fan of Pulp, dont always agree with Steves rants, but he does do fantastic podcasts. Pulp is my go to podcast

Ping is equally as talented as Steve at interviewing and getting the best out of his guests

Im a fan of GL as a racer, but I just cant listen to him anymore on podcasts,he interrupts the guests all the time, answering the questions himself and leaving the guest high and dry unable to answer

I tune in to hear the guests answers not GL and his experiences

Doug Henry was going to be a brilliant guest, but GL ruined it,jumping in on the questions and spoiled the whole thing. Some good questions Ping put to Doug never got answers
Reed kind of handled GL by keeping on talking over him and answering the questions Ping asked

IMO Ping could carry this show on his own and it would be vastly improved without GL

GL is a true MX champ and a good TV commentator, but as a podcast host .......not so much
