Having said that, I think all of the media could stand to be a bit more professional. Your example of Ping above is good one. Also Donn Maeda taking shots at Works Connection every time Matthes does a product post, because Donn has some beef with Eric Phipps the owner of WC. That is just so immature, and you'd think a guy like Maeda would understand the concept of not burning a bridge, after having the rug pulled out from under him with Transworld.
In terms of pure professionalism in the main media group, I think Jason Weigandt and Michael Antonovich are by far and away the most professional on all fronts. They focus on the sport and the athletes and keep personal agendas in the background. Matthes is good but he does have issues with always needing to hammer his points home and not knowing when to back down. GL in the broadcast booth is professional, but his social media and Whiskey Throttle stuff is less so. Ping has never really had a professional bone in his body when it comes to media, but since 2016 he's gone all in on expressing his own personal views. Daniel Blair apart from his SX gigs for Feld is a total asshat clown who is actually dangerous with his personal viewpoints. I've never tried his Main Main show because I don't need to pay to get conspiracy theories and crazy far right opinions, they are all over social media for free. Donn Maeda is pretty cringy, always has to have some reference to a "hot moto mom" in his podcasts plus he can't let go of the pinup girl stuff. David Izer and Kevin Kelly at DMXS are OK, maybe stuck in the past a bit with some comments but they don't push personal opinion too heavy. GuyB does a good job of staying on the subject of the sport and is able to write and speak without a lot of bias which I appreciate. I'm not even going to touch Cooksey or Johnny Appleseed or MXA.
EDIT: I forgot about JT$ aka Jason Thomas. JT is very good at walking the line between personal opinion and being professional. If you follow his socials it is fairly obvious where he lies politically but he doesn't let it interfere with his moto life. I think when it comes to understanding the big picture of how everything is connected in the sport, JT has an incredible perspective because he's not just a media guy, but he works in the industry and has to represent a brand, and he was also a successful racer but not a factory guy who always had everything handed to him. Combining all of that gives him the ability to view any situation from many different vantage points and give a balanced opinion.
we also don't have go fund me for injured riders, a compulsory insurance scheme covers all costs, incl 80% of your income ,

The beef between Whiskey Throttle and PulpMX is hilarious. It seems to come from Ping/GL and Steve just defends himself, from my perspective. Both shows serve a completely different purpose and can coexist. If I miss a week of pulp I'm probably not going back to listen. I absolutely love it when it's recent and during the racing season. Whiskey Throttle is preserved history, and can be listened to at any time, really. I could go into more detail but who gives a shit.
People talking down on GL need to calm down a little bit.. like saying he drags down the Whiskey Throttle show, or even that he sucks at podcasting. GL is the comedy on that show. Ping can't really be the comic relief and the guy driving the interview forward, even though he's a funny guy. A podcast without comedy and parts to laugh at is just a waste of time. Taking GL away from the Whiskey Throttle show would make it a yawner. I get that everyone has their flaws. Me, GL, Matthes, all of us. Get over it and enjoy life more.
I love both shows btw, both would be elevated by being guests to the other show.
In Australia we operate with a boomerang because we cant afford scalpels.
I hate to tell you but there are plenty of independent studies ranking countries medical systems.....and the "socialised medicine" systems are generally rated right at the top, not perfect by any means. but ask the people of those countries if they would like to do away with their system, and I guarantee the majority like having their medical system.
You guys can do it however you like. it doesn't effect me. but don't say other systems are shit, when you obviously have zero idea how/if they work.
But this latest spat really made GL look like a fool in my opinion.
GL went out of his way to tell Matthes that WT was "crushing pulp" (despite Pulp being primarily a podcast with a YouTube channel on the side) then when Matthes replied saying he thought they were cool because they chat at the races GL replies that Matthes is fake.....does he really not see the hypocrisy of that?
Then the Tapia thing was bullshit. Tapia had insurance the 1st injury, and yes perhaps made a mistake not being adequately insured for the 2nd injury, but just pointed out his appreciation for Mattes support, even though they dont agree politically (who knew adults could have different opinions and not hate eachother) and GL has such a hard on for going after any Matthes supporter, he has a crack.
What a flog....fuck, grow up GL

I think there is a bit of a friendly rivalry between all of "the colonies" and the UK also.
Plenty of South Africans in Aus, the UK, Canada etc, and visa-versa.
You just have to travel and see that Kiwis, Aussies, Saffas, Canucks and Poms all seem to end up drinking, travelling and having a good time together.
