Tim Ritche adamantly denies any sand was added to Red Bud before 2018 MXoN. I have never seen anyone agree with his take, but apparently he will fight anyone who claims sand was added. When are Roczen and Tim Ritchie going to fight?

The racing was amazing though

Said it before n I'll say it again, I do love sand too, but mainly at tracks where it was naturally occurring.
Pit Row
Wide arcing turns and the deep sandy soil mean the fastest line is always across the inside, which gets deep slot ruts, and then when you go a little wide it's rough enough you can't really get a run. There are so many "almost passes" at Red Bud as opposed to pass and pass back... the biggest factor this week was doing the leap but there was a lot of follow the leader too.
It needs widening, and layout needs more hairpins like the 07 photo above – traditional moto corners so there isn't always a need to go inside, or you can go wide and cut back.... don't rip the bastard at all either, it's sandy, it will rough up better being left.
Also the layout really sucks now imo. It’s all these exact 45 or 90 degree corners with completely straight strait aways. No more jigs in the corners or nothing. It’s basically an enlarged supercross track with elevation.

Year 2000 redbud.. way better! And also the tv production is just sooooo much better.
Let's at least be fair in our criticisms. Now, let the criticisms continue...
My take is the track does not seem to "flow" well in some sections for various layout and obstacle locations that kill momentum. Seeing riders do the leap is a big draw and disappointing that riders were not doing it with the weird run-up.
