Ping and GL talked about it at the beginning of the latest Whiskey Throttle podcast. Sounds like the big rumor making it’s way around the industry. They both seemed to think that it is more likely to happen than not.
Downside is he loses but whatever you’ve got one life ya know...
The Shop
Would be cool to see though. If he lines up I'll travel to Hangtown
Imagine a Tomac vs Herlings at Southwick or Washougal ?
He can really be one of the biggest legend of the sport by winning this title ! I am sure he realize it.
Gonna get a lot of dislike for this but i do hope he miss the first four rounds of the MXGP series...
There could be some benefit in it as far as building for the GP season even if he dont win in America, they always say
You cant duplicate race conditions when trying to get practice so there is that.
I think it would be cool to have him even just for a few Rounds.
Pit Row
2nd if he is ready to go, he needs to have the goodwill from KTM, because his MXGP contract and possible a 3rd bike under the tent.
I dont see it happening until Musquin skips outdoors to get his knee fixed....
Herlings isn't just going for the 2019 MXGP title. He's trying to break Evert's all time win record. Even if he comes back 4 round in, or even 5 rounds in, he can rack up a bunch of wins and add them to his tally.
Herlings is a beast. Even if his foot is weak and he's been off the bike for a while, he can come back for round 2 and get a top ten and salvage some points. He rode with a broken femur in Mexico, and won last year with a fresh plate in his collar bone.
Herlings is NOT going to race the AMA Nationals this year.
Would I love to see it? Absolutely.
Kinda wish more Euros raced over here and vice versa.
"Herlings is NOT going to race the AMA Nationals this year."
Seems very presumptuous.
Post a reply to: Jeffrey Herlings to race American MX series?
