I figured he would stay with them if they kept the team going.
TJ and his family are really good people! His dad always has funny stories of his days racing, growing up in Peru and moving to Mexico riding for a circus and then to Florida, traveling with his best friend back in the days which was a pet monkey! Haha
His dad is really successful too owning several businesses, he used to imports and probably still
Import Oakley and Underarmor in Peru, he also co-own RED Cameras and was developing the cell phone but it didn’t really picked up. But anyway!
The surprise 450 rider for PRMX is Justin Hill technically, been hearing that for around a month. He went to SOB to ride the bike.
I think the PRMX team has 6 guys this year. 4 250 guys split on each coast and 2 450 guys.
Benek, Bellrod, J. Thompson, B. Ray, J. Hill, and another on the 450.
Great to hear plenty of teams racing in 2022
This sounds exactly like one of Matthes' rants, I know.
I hope Jarrett Frye finds a decent ride for 2022.
Pit Row
This is kind of what Star did with Frye, only it hasn't worked out in their eyes. I wonder how many years Bogle would have gotten on Star? His first 2 full seasons on FC Honda were certainly up and down.
Frye's best race finish in regional SX was 10th and he failed to qualify from the LCQ twice. Meanwhile his fellow rookie and teammate Nate Thrasher won twice, fellow rookie Seth Hammaker won a race and had 3 podiums, and fellow rookie Stilez Robertson also had a podium. Nobody is expecting podiums, but from the team's perspective it would be nice the see the guy get in the mix and get some exposure at some point. His outdoor season was equally uninspiring. Why keep him on the payroll when he is out performed by his fellow rookie teammate (Thrasher) and incoming rookie teammate (Kitchen), with more talent coming in the Star pipeline?
He may have a long and successful career but at this point I don't think he's a fit with Star Yamaha's goals and expectations.
Again, hope Frye is able to land a decent ride. We rarely if ever see a 250 kid go down from a factory ride to something lesser and then get back up to factory team. McAdoo almost timed out after 2018, but landed fill-in rides at Geico and TLD in 2019 to bridge the gap.
I thought he was retired too like many people but seems like he wants to give it a go again. We will see if the rumors are true but it seems like it is.
