Every time something comes up here, everyone piles on saying "what's your source" or "who told you that" and the credibility of who posted it is immediately in question. I see both sides, but seriously, why would anyone in their right mind give up "their source" and jeopardize their relationship with that person just to please the Vitards? Let's say I was best buds with Guy B and was riding shotgun in the Yota for the Nationals. If he he told me something in confidence that he found out at Hangtown and I then blabbed about it here and sold him out as "the source," do you think I'd make it to Lakewood before he told me to find my own ride for the next 9 rounds? Do you think our future conversations would go beyond whats on the menu at Chili's and what the weather is? DC, Guy B, Matthes, Cox, etc wouldnt have a pot to piss in if they gave up the source of every piece of info they received, no different for manfriends, family, trainers and everyone connected to said rider thats at the top of the headlines today.

Apparently I have learned that it's a bad idea to tell anyone anything in confidence. Once again, what's so hard about keeping your trap shut?

Spot on Rizz, when people ask for the source, I just think in my head "does your brain work that slowly to think I might give you my source and potentially jeopardize a 17+ yr friendship (that's where I get a lot of info) to please a vitard"? Laughing brainless fools IMO

You know that statement doesn't really work when you're not in person. But you probably already know that, right? I'm surprised you have a 17 year friendship with someone, because the way you handle and present yourself on here are representative of a 13 year old...15 at the most.

maybe Aldon is killing these guys careers too early...making them flame out hard. If RV does leave Aldon, its possible he has a little mindset change and continues winning for years to come. someone said its 350k a year to be with Baker? That seems way too high I was thinking 50k maybe? does anyone know for sure? if it really is 350k, what would keep you from doing 1 year with him, and just remembering what you did and continue doing it and saving 350k....that would get me motivated to get to the gym without a trainer.

What is Aldon Selling ? Just training like a Gym personal get fit person - If he where selling "Championships" which is a completely diffrent Phycology and mental approach - he would not be able to train 2 people for the same title at the same time with good conscience.

"This place is toxic."

I quite agree. I find Vital ruins my enjoyment of the sport and when I'm feeling good about a race or racer or outcome or a coming race etc etc... all I need to do is read a few posts on here and it ruins my mood and my outlook on the whole scene. Especially the types of people who are 'fans' of the sport. If Vital represents the 'fans' of this sport, Christ, imagine what the enemies of the sport must say and think. Actually with fans and friends of the sport like this, we don't need enemies.
X2. This place used to kick ass years ago. Now... not so much.

Would RV have accomplished what he has without Aldon? My guess is fuck no. You have to spend money to make money so they say and I would suggest it has been money well spent. He would be crazy to let him go, IMHO.

I'm sure Aldon comes at a premium price. I don't see why Villopoto would continue to pay Aldon a salary to live the lifestyle of a retired SX/MX champion. If you were at Vegas this year, good for you, you got to see Ryan VIllopoto's last professional race. And you know what? That's OK. Good for him. Go enjoy what's left of your body and live healthy for the rest of your days.....

Totally agree. RV has proved it all, won it all, and taken on all comers...he totally deserves to step away with all his millions, and live the good life with his wife and maybe even be a Dad and family man. I've never been what you call a fan...but I recognize a helluva rider, and a champion. I hope he doesn't come back in '15 mainly because he looked like he totally hated what he was doing.
You hope he doesn't come back in 2015 because that way a rider you are a fan of will have a chance of winning a championship. If cycles repeat themselves then next year is RV's healthy year (like 2013) where he will win both the MX and SX championship. Then 2016 come in and win the SX championship, but injure himself and not be able to race MX, so then he retires. Wink

Sounds like you're willing to risk a 17yr friendship to try to "scoop" some folks with the "hey, look at what insider info I know!" routine already.......

I don't have a problem with people trying to get the holeshot on rumors/news. It's one of the reasons I come here.

But I don't think it's cool to hide behind a screen name and bash somebody who posts using their real name.

Now, if 48dirtbikewhatever named others who also call Keefer a liar, that could be fact checked, and that's something at least.

And I'm on the mindset that Keefer's job involves secrets every day...if he was such a liar and distrusted, how would he have a job? He's always been cool and upfront with me...which is why I'm defending him.
