He can congratulate Herlings on his little MX2 title at the awards banquet.
on a smoother track....can't compare 250 times from an earlier moto...sorry.

Better not talk about butthurt in Latvia
The main difference this year has been the fact that he has been a totally different rider on the 450. Calm, accurate and very fast. But we saw the old Gajser in moto 2. One thing is certain, he wont win the title if he rides like that.
Pit Row
He could've easily went down two more times and in worst case scenario got himself injured.
But it was very impressive and exciting!
More often than not though I think your prediction is spot on.
It's clear that both 461 and 243 have raised the bar in the MXGP class concerning letting it all hang out and riding on the edge by the look of it. The rest is a bit more conservative except swedish rider Filip Bengtsson who is yet to finish even a heat. He seems to be on the wrong side of that edge unfortunately.
We had chance to spend time with him at EMX150 camp a week ago in Spain where he was teaching the Honda juniors. I made an interview with him for Finnish MX magazine OffroadPro and he really does things differently compared to many others. If everything goes as planned we'll see him racing at Monster Cup this year.

As we've seen with Gajser and Fabvre, it can be a real challenge to make the jump.

And another one from 2009 in Slovenian. The answers are almost the same.

I'm not trying to take anything away from Herlings as I believe he is the best 250 rider in the world on any track any where...but let's not get carried away here until he makes the step up to MXGP (and yes it is a step up whenever riders are forced to move up) his fast lap times and total class annihilation mean less than winning in the MXGP class period.
Both of these young men are shaping MXGP into a great series. The new generation has taken over.
JH will change things up for sure, but I wouldn't hand him the plate just yet.
I hope any/all of these guys come race the US to bring more life to the series. I do think the GP riders have what it takes to win some American titles.
Post a reply to: Gajser !
