I just left a hearing at the county regarding the permits for Diablo MX Ranch in NorCal, formerly Sand Hill Ranch, it just passed the reopening pending appeal, but this is positive news, the new owners will have to make a few improvements, but nothing that can't be overcome, Great news.

Awesome! If I wasn't in school right now I would absolutely be down there supporting you guys, I can't wait for this place to open back up. I remember my dad taking me out there on my xr50 on $10 Wednesdays, I had a heck of a lot of fun rippin the mini track back in the day! I only live around 15min from this place so it will be awesome not having to drive very far We drove by to check it out on our way back from Carnegie pretty recently and things are looking good!

Cool to see another awesome track opening in that area. Think there are any job openings for a mechanical engineer in Norcal?

>>> some good news from someone that was there !!

Can't wait, only about 30 mins away.....

Thanks everyone that came out to the hearing today in support of Diablo MX. Currently, the Diablo MX permits are valid and in place until 2028. Today's was their 5 year compliance hearing. The property has been out of compliance for so long under the prior owner. The current owners have been working really hard with the county to bring the property back into compliance with their permit. The neighbors were throwing everything they could make up at the owners. They had their high price attorney citing statutes, talking about noise pollution, talking about the environmental impact etc. But at the end of the day, the hearing officer called them out on their lies and the county approved the owners compliance request plus approved a grading permit to get rid of the old BMX track(not on permit), relocate the oval track, grade the hill and start on the track. So, now what happens is the neighbors have 10 days to submit an appeal which everyone expects them to do. This also means the owner can not starting doing anything yet. They have to go through the appeal process. However, the good news is Diablo MX is inching closer to the finish line.

Digging up this old thread because I've been out of the loop and wondering what was happening with this place. Are they open for biz? Looks like they are having some invite only events on their facebook page. Anybody got any insight? Cheers.

Good seeing you out at Dixon last month......yes it's been the neighbors who have been slowing the process down! The owner seems like a great guy who has the drive to make this happen!!

I sure hope it works out for them. They were trying to open last year! I am not sure why an appeal takes so long.

How did you like working with Rodney? Is he pricey? I've only heard great things about his classes from people who have worked with him.
