Anyone else expect this dude to be on the box frequently this year? Always had the speed to hang with the front runners and now he's got a great team and is coming off a championship run in aus.
Anyone know what coast he'll be on?

I've always wondered how he goes from having strong performances indoors at SX and then doesn't seem to do as well outdoors. Maybe this will be a breakout year for him. If it's not, it'll be the beginning of the end for good rides I think.

More serious, older, wiser, great team. It'll all come together for Jimmy this year.
He looked good on his IG video he posted. Maybe because it wasnt slowmo!
Flying to the races, time to train properly and have a good base not coming off injuries, bike is completely taken care of and the confidence winning the ASX championship WILL improve Mr. James Decotis results.
He had a fill in ride before, remember him telling the truth about the fill in ride for Gieco years ago, said on the DMXS show it just isn't what most people think it is.
Now is the real opportunity.

so depend s what coast he is on . but i have never (ever ) seen a rider to have so much hype every year as JIMMY D . nothing against him , but he has never finished on the podium . and people are thinking he can be on the podium every week . its just mad to me
You could have posted the same type of list about Weston Pieke a few years ago, what now?

Peick still hasn't won a main or moto, neither has Decotis. In fact, he's only stood on the podium one time.
I'd say the comparisons are similar. Both made it on to a great team. Neither are going to win the championship. It'll be some standout rides, but otherwise not in contention for overalls on a regular basis.

"Be on the box frequently" is not unrealistic at all. Great team, great off season, a lot better than last year where he had solid finishes.
Last year you could as well have listed plenty of guys that were faster than McElrath (ON PAPER) and still he had two 2nd place finishes and finished 3rd in points in a stacked west coast lineup
Hope he proves a lot of people wrong this year!
He knows its go time in his professional career. Hopefully he forges his way to the front at what I would call a career crossroads for him.
