He did seem to jump but he should be able to use the RV excuse that it was too dangerous to stop his momentum at the time he was aware of the flag.

Great win and very deserving, fuk the AMA.

A-Rod crashed on the step-off

I think people saw martin jump the camel back section before the finish with the red cross flags in the background, but he had already passed all the flags and the crash

thats what i saw on tv anyway

Ok guys, I hate to say this but, can we refrain from using Martin when referring to Davalos? I know that's his first name and all but when you have three other Martin's racing 250 east then its confusing as hell

This is incorrect. From what I understand, there were no flags out. There were yellow flashing lights, not red. Adam rolled through a section, then realized he didn't need to.

From the view on tv, it looked like the cross flag was waving before he got to the section and jumped, but maybe it was an anxious official? What'd you see Gibby?

It's at 6:20ish.

I'm not sure what to make of it. If he broke a rule he should be penalized but from this angle i don't think that we can say for sure that he wasn't already past the downed rider.

64 starts. The look of amazement on Davlos' eyes during the interview and the reality of how long he's been trying (8 years as tiddler class racer?) was great. Rules are rules but it would have been a shame to dock him and take away the win.

the redcross flag was clearly out but evidently the lights that were flashing were yellow, not red. (GuyB said he saw that as well as AC in his post race interview). guessing it was just a flagger that was confused as to which flag he should be waiving. can't imagine they would dock Davalos for the mixed signals. i sure hope not.

I like davalos, I'm happy he won, but you'd think with two things as controversial as davalos jumping on the red white cross flag and Alessi's move on tickle, there would be more coverage, or at least a clarification as to what happened, the rules, the fines/penalties handed down...something. A lot of people are talking about these things, but there's been little coverage.

Sure he could have checked up but it was too late as the red cross flag wasn't visible entering the dragons back section.

Now, the proper place to wave that flag is on the top of that dragons back where it would be visible to everyone entering that section.

RV got away with the same thing under similar circumstances. The flagger should have been in a more visible spot.

hes jumping out of the medical "zone" the crash that required the flags was for A-Rod on the jump before where marteen jumped

He definitely jumped, and the rule is wheels on the ground right? The gray area is where does the "medical zone" end? After you pass the rider or after the section? In my opinion, he should have been docked, but I'm glad they didn't. I don't think anyone deserved a win more than he did. Of course my opinion is based solely on what I saw on TV, and you have to believe the AMA officials had a much better view of what happened.

There's no question that he jumped immediately after the red cross flag. They wouldn't be waving yellow flags behind where the rider went down so that makes me think there had to be someone just out of shot off the side of the track that was down. I don't think it was the Rodgriguez crash unless he got up and walked around a 90 degree corner and then dropped to the ground. There was a yellow flag being waved on the dragon's back going up and then the red cross flag is on the single in between the two dragon's backs which is where davalos jumped from. I would really like to hear exactly what the AMA has to say about it
