What 1 or 2 rides do you guys think were the best performances in MX or SX history??

I'll start with:
Toronto 2014 - Stewart
Budds Creek 2003 - Stewart

I'd bump Stewart's Toronto 2014 ride in favor of Carmichael's lapping of the entire field.

1. Ricky Carmichael - Lapping the field in 2006 at Millville.
2. Ryan Villopoto - Winning the MX1/MX2 and MX2/MX3 motos at the 2007 MXdN.

Not sure if it would even get honorable mention but Bob Hannah at the 1987 MXDN on an RM125 was a huge feat.

You young'ns should use the google machine for that one.

Doug Henry's GNCC win in Florida, 2002 or 2003?, on his practice bike. Collapsed from exhaustion at the checkers. Can't remember if it was Knight or Salminen that he beat.

You guys have come up with a lot of great rides. One that I think was incredible Marty Moates flawless ride at the Carlsbad GP as a privateer against a World class field

I don't think it's fair to put a ride where a rider got a bad start and came through the pack ahead of a ride where a rider got the holeshot and checked out. Many of you have come from behind rides on here. That's rewarding them getting a bad start if you rank that one above one where they dominated the field from the start. I don't think that's right.

For instance, many people bring up Stewart's 03 Budds Creek ride. He was head and shoulders above his competition. He could have holeshotted that race and won by over a minute, which he did several times on a 125. To me, I think holeshotting and winning by over a minute is equally as impressive as the 03 Budds Creek ride. We can't be rewarding guys for getting bad starts.

That's just my opinion, so take it for what it's worth.

Steward didn't get a bad start at Budds Creek in 2003, he came together with someone and crashed. Watching him pass 39 riders on a 125 banger is what made the ride so unbelievable.

Lol so we can applaud a rider being better than the field as long as he holeshots but not if he doesnt. Makes sense....
