The navicular in the foot is commonly interchanged with being called a scaphoid. Being that he is holding his weight on to the walker in the photo..I think he is meaning the tarsal navicular.

Short came from last..not sure what happened..he was around 8th then dropped back to last....

I think race pace and free riding are two completely different things....

Although he did race amateurs...Andrew Short has a full in school education.

I use to work at Vickery Motorsports that helps support Derek. Derek and his dad Jimmy are class acts, they use to return their bikes at the end of the season in like new condition...new plastic, tires, chain, sprockets etc. They are very appreciative of everything people do for them.

If you watch the podium interviews from TV you can see Tomac wearing an under the jersey type. Alias must not make one because the one Tomac has on you can clearly see it say TLD thru his jersey.

Watkins is actually under new ownership, they have what seems like daily prep (sometimes a couple times a day) and have re done the track as well added a ton of dirt and sand. I have not been able to ride it personally but I hear it's better than it's ever been.

Actually if you did some research before hand, he qualified 20th in Oakland. He has had three rides on the KTM, finished second in his heat and was doing pretty good before washing the front end. 99% of the know it alls on the board make me not even want to visit the site anymore!

Unfortunately that does not always work. I witnessed a head on at a track here...that post directional signs. One of the kids involved in the incident later tried to sue the track and he was the one going to the wrong way!!!

He looked really good in his heat race, was in 9th and got passed with a half lap to go!

Im not denying Chiara speed...but I think Ashley was riding for the championship...she dropped in to the 3:03 with Chiara second moto...but she didn't have to win..she only had to beat Patterson. It would have ben fun to see them race against each other through out the whole season!

True...but I think after such a severe wreck while being a new father...you tend to prioritize things differently in your life. Also maybe th doctor doesn't think he can risk another head injury to that extent again?

I read recently on his twitter that he still has yet to be cleared by the doctor for his head injury he suffered in that wreck.

Shorty has a fairly decent list of accomplishments over the years. He might not have a title but he has always been consistently in the top 5. If he were racing right now he would be on the podium just as much as Milsaps and Weimer. http://andrewshort.com/accomplishments
