Does anyone have any recent pictures of Derek and his bike? I know he didn't qualify for the main event but curious as to how looked riding indoors. I hope they do a driven to ride style show for Supercross.

Heres what Derek posted on Facebook sunday after A1:
"Round 1 - was nuts! It was a lot of what i expected and a lot of i didn't expect. I knew i was going to get nervous and ride tight which i did, i knew the track was going to be gnarly which it was and i knew every person on the field is for real, some more than others! I landed myself in "A" practice somehow and quickly found out that every person out there is out for kill. Some of the guys whizzing by me was getting to my head which was not allowing me to ride like myself. I managed to keep it together through the first two practices and by the last practice i finally started getting the hang of things and scored myself a fast enough time to get into the night show. Mission 1 accomplished! In the first heat race, obviously like every other start last year i came out (felt like), last and with some snake moves and avoiding some other conflict in the first lap i found myself around 11th place. Within the last few laps a couple guys went down getting myself into a transfer position to the main event. I had no idea where i was at the whole race and in the last lap i made a couple mistakes allowing the guy behind me to catch up and make the pass, only to find out afterwards that, that last guy was the last ticket to the main. DOUBLE U TEA EFF! Brushed it off and the last chance race started off with yet again another bad start and just couldn't make it happen. I know what i have to work on now and have more hunger then ever! It is not like an outdoor race where you can come from the back, you really only have 6 minutes to make something happen and it was definitely something i didn't think about. Those guys are going 150% the whole time, no calm laps, its all or nothing, kill or be killed. But, at the end of the day i had such a great time and great experience. Everything about supercross is so amazing and being able to watch doesn't justify what it is really like out there. The feelings and emotions lining up on that gate for the first time, looking up at all the shining light, hearing the loud music and seeing everyone in the stands looking down at you are like nothing anywhere else in this world. I cant thank everyone enough though who has supported me and believed in me to do this supercross thing (all my family, sponsors and friends), and big thank you to all my fans, all your comments of motivation, it all means so much! Well see you in phoenix, im out now - stay classy facebook!"

Kind surprised to see him NOT in One Industries gear/helmet...... Seemed like a super cool guy after watching the Driven series.

I've always thought of Derek as an outdoor rider, but it's not really much of a surprise to see him start out with plenty to build on coming off of the gate at A1.

He's been an awesome story to follow, I hope we get some footage from his travels!

Sorry man but we won't be making a Driven to Ride Supercross...just not in the books. Derek is also taking to supercross quite well! With only a few weeks of riding on a real supercross track I think he has a strong base after A1 to build from...we'll see this weekend!

The Driven to Ride Series made me a super fan. To me Derek finishing 19th in the main is much more impressive than a millionaire with works bikes, personal compounds, personal trainers, etc taking 9th. Best of luck Derek. We follow you.

A DTR for supercross would be super cool. The strategy and behind the scenes of the riders meetings, setups, and other drama would be so awesome.
