Weege Added a reply to I don't like the TV production

7/11/2021 11:14am
You are absolutely correct, on TV it's not my job to break down riding styles, bike setup, etc. Seriously, if I go too deep there will be a vital thread that says "WTH Weege has never won a title what does he know???" GL can handle that, but there's not much time for analysis when action is happening all around...

What you actually saw there was a pass happening at the EXACT time we were coming off of commercial break on TV. When you watch on Peacock you get to see the action during commercials, but during the final 10 seconds coming back from the TV commercial break, on Peacock we have to be silent so it will make for...

Weege Added a reply to In Memorial - RIP RacerBoy, Marc Estabooks

Wow what a shocker. Marc always had good ideas and his drawings were amazing. He did a few projects with MX Sports through the years, including a Moto Heroes comic strip that ran in Racer X for awhile. He created kids characters working their way to Loretta's. Really cool. About ten years ago he wanted to do some sort...

Weege Added a reply to How important is "Network TV" to our sport?

7/3/2013 7:01pm
This thread is good and I think we made some headway here, but one thing I never get is this idea that some tracks are TV friendly, or decisions about tracks have been made due to TV. TV has zero impact on what tracks the series goes to, and I can't even think of a reason as to why it...

There are always questions over the accuracy of Nielsen TV ratings, but what does matter is the MX ratings are counted the same way every other thing on TV is counted. So if you're a sponsor/advertiser trying to decide where to spend your money, it's an even playing field, ratings are ratings and you can compare one show to another...

One part of the TV ratings equation that often gets forgotten is the influence on sponsors that support the teams--and ultimately pay the riders. We all want to see more money for the riders, and we usually think of that as purse money, but look at it this way: Bigger TV ratings means an outside sponsor, like Rockstar Energy Drink...

Weege Added a reply to Hangtown streaming situation

I think you misinterpreted what I was saying, Honda907, that was just a joke from 11 AM, it wasn't like anyone had major panic or knew there was a huge unfixable issue, as far as I knew. There are always issues that come and go throughout the morning of a broadcast, probably not unlike what a team is dealing with...

It just doesn't work that way, we can't go back, what's beamed up live is beamed up live. Remember, the races air live internationally at the same time we're doing it for SPEED. NO ONE would have loved to have redone it more than me, since I'm the one who looks like an idiot for something that wasn't my fault...
Like DC said, we actually didn't have any of that stuff--everything went down in our truck and we had zero info until the end of the first lap, when we then saw the timing feed from that lap. Even then we couldn't see the racing, we just called Barcia as the leader based on the timing feed. It was like...

On a related note, I don't like dogs, Just ask Matthes. I actually give him hell for his. So we're definitely heading in the right direction here. Not a fans of cats either. You guys are onto me!

Uh, I didn't say that Stewart crying was fake. That was JT. And when he said he thought it was fake, I said I can't see how he could be that good of an actor. Then I made a joke about them practicing in the garage. I don't think it was fake. That was JT.

Weege Added a reply to Racer X - Alessi bashing

First of all, peelout, if you're going to attach videos like that to posts I'm in on, I WILL RESPOND TO EVERY POST EVER FROM NOW ON!!! Yeah!! As for the Dunge/Suz thing, it's been analyzed too far now. Once we get into word by word we're probably digging for more meaning then is really there. A few team guys...

It's not damage control because I didn't do anything wrong here. I told you what the Suzuki guys said. I've said plenty of bad about Dungey this year. I didn't totally blast Alessi, I said that he passed Dungey back, he got passed in the whoops, and that the family once built a whoop track to help him out. All...

For Burn, here's a snippet from the previous Redux from Jacksonville, with more overwhelming praise for Dungey. [i]What about The Dunge? I just can’t figure it out. It was there for the taking, but he didn’t take it. Before the season, a lot of potential scenarios were trotted out, but I don’t think anyone believed there would be a race...

My deal is a little different than Richard's, I try to offend all people equally instead of picking out specifics. Right now I just have Ping and Matthes under me. Gonna be some time before it's DC. But look how popular I am just for finally posting on here!
