Look at the last few weeks as a reference. Chad Reed was faster than Ryan Dungey in Atlanta. But Dungey was clearly faster than Reed in Indy, where he caught him, crashed, then caught him again. But then Dungey wasn’t faster than Reed last week in Jacksonville, in fact, when Dungey lost the pace of Reed and Trey Canard, many declared his championship hopes dead and buried. Now, one week later, Dungey turns the tables on Canard and Reed and beats them both in Toronto the exact same way they beat him in Jacksonville! By the way, Canard caught and passed Dungey twice in the heat race, but Dungey was better in the main. Amazing.
Each time you think you finally have this season figured out, it changes as soon as you can say “next week.” Two weeks ago Ryan Villopoto was in control, now he’s not even in the points lead. It was clearly not Chad Reed’s championship when he was digging his head out of the sand on the first lap in Los Angeles. Now he is in the points lead. And a few days ago, no one thought this could be Dungey’s year, either, until he won in Toronto, and look at that, he’s down just eight points despite losing at least fifteen in Anaheim with a derailed chain.
You combine that with this week's.
Judge for yourself. Its slanted.
I can respect that it is an editorial for sure. But, I don't like the dismissive and sarcastic attitudes. Kinda like the dude that got flogged by Vital who "reported" for the LA Times on the SX in Dodger Stadium. He was pretty much a dick regarding something a lot of us hold dear and he heard about it. And the fact that someone writes an editorial and labels it editorial does not exempt them from a retort, a reply or a disagreement. Just cause it's an editorial doesn't mean it came with a hold harmless agreement. People who read it still have their opinions and will likely voice them regarding the content, tone etc. Hence what we have here.
Furthermore to bridge the gap in such a lazy fashion as JW did with the Alessi ruined Dungeys night comment was fuckin ridiculous and he needed to be called out on it. Come on, man. You can't blame the fact that Dungey lost that race on Alessi. Guess what, guys, if Canard starts in front of Dungey, currently, and doesn't fall, he is going to beat him.
Why are you blaming JW for something he was just relaying from the Suzuki camp?
What about The Dunge? I just can’t figure it out. It was there for the taking, but he didn’t take it. Before the season, a lot of potential scenarios were trotted out, but I don’t think anyone believed there would be a race where Dungey got up to third and just couldn’t keep the pace of Chad Reed and Trey Canard. Not picking on Canard, but one of them is a rookie, and he has two wins. Dungey had a shot at him in Houston and could have done it here. Where was the anger from last week?
It almost seems like I said bad things about him in a race where he got third and good things about him in a race in which he won? Where do I come up with this!? When a guy wins, you usually write more positive things about him than when he loses...
For lucero, I was making fun of a KTM press release about an AMA certified holeshot. I don't see that as ruining an entire company, its bikes or its employees. It was just a joke about one single press release. I also own a KTM. And I don't own any of the other brands of bikes.
I was merely reporting what the Suzuki dudes said after the race. I never said Dungey would have won the race if Alessi hadn't passed him, or that Alessi should not have done that. I did say that it could have changed things, and it obviously could have. But I don't have any problems with what Mike did. I'm just telling you what happened, I wasn't railing against what he did.
Same with T Hahn deal on the last lap. I wasn't saying what he said was good or bad, I'm just telling you that he said it.

I said the same thing when Steve Cox totally degraded Wharton on an accident with Canard last year. He totally blasted him.
The same thing here. While I don't think you totally blasted him, you kind of went overboard with the whole whoop thing. Maybe get a Q&A with Alessi.
If you prefer, we can go with "everyone is equally awesome and there's nothing good, bad, exciting, fun funny or cool happening at the races" next week. But that's not the truth.
P.S. I had to come back on here because the AMA Motocross Championship is starting, and I'm doing TV. I'm sure I'll be on the receiving end of some blasting myself soon.
Since you have been monitoring, can you clear up my point of misunderstanding? Did suzuki say or imply this whole statement?: "..."the Suzuki guys were kind of bummed Mike did that, because there was absolutely no chance he was going to hold off Dungey for 19 more laps, so he basically wrecked Dungey’s race for no real reason—if Dunge had gotten to second on the first lap it may have changed everything". And furthermore, do you agree with all or part and which do you agree with and which do you not agree with?
I read it as the suzuki guys said there was no way he was going to hold off Dungey for 19 laps (i agree) and you concluded from that Mike ruined Dungeys race or concluded that the suzuki guys thought this (bullshit either way).
but...
As for the Dunge/Suz thing, it's been analyzed too far now. Once we get into word by word we're probably digging for more meaning then is really there. A few team guys were bench racing at the truck after the race, bummed that Alessi did that. For what it's worth, Dungey came walking by himself and wanted none of it, he didn't use it as an excuse and didn't want to be part of the conversation because I think he knows it's just racing and didn't have a problem with what Mike did.
But this is what team guys do--all around, not just Suzuki--they pull for their guy a little too much sometimes. And they didn't say Dungey would have won or anything like that, or that it cost him the race. They just said they were bummed Mike did that, because MAYBE things would have turned out differently.
As for me, I think Mike has every right to try everything he can to stay in the battle. I totally, 100 percent think that move was okay. He's allowed to pass people back. I just tried to explain the race situation in detail so everyone can make their own conclusion--it happened so fast, some people may have missed it, so I explained what happened on the track and off.
I thought it was a cool nugget of info, news and gossip from the pits. But somehow two paragraphs made me out to be A) and Alessi/KTM hater and
what fucking turd mitt said that...besides you of course?
Pit Row
yer fucking high.
And the Suzuki guys being bummed may stem from the fact that they were winning a lot last year, and finally got one this year, only to lose some momentum again(in their minds) when Ryan couldn't get past Mike cleanly. Mike of course rides for their old teammates Roger DeCoster and Ian Harrison, as they split from Suzuki to KTM after last year's amazing season, and maybe that was in their minds after the race in Dallas.... But that's just a guess.
I will say that I disagree with them, that it was good to see Mike trying hard and trying to make stuff happen. But when his own Alessi Weekly report starts out by describing how "dangerous" the track was and lists all the guys who crashed before it discusses his own results, obviously there are some comfort and confidence issues with Supercross within #800's camp. But come outdoors, I expect to see Mike back up front, battling for wins again.
Just my two cents, even though bench-racing should be free.

Thanks for the love BobbyM.
I was not trying to twist what you wrote I was trying to comprehend it. That's all. I just wanted to know where you stood because your opinion seemed quite intertwined with some members of Team Suzuki.
This post clears it all up. Thank you. I am glad this is where you stand and I should have taken for granted it was where you stood but sometimes with paraphrasing and not using quotes it's hard to figure out where the sources opinion ends and the journalists starts.
I can't help but laugh at Team Suzuki for stating anything remotely close to Alessi ruining Dungeys race. The evidence in no way supports the conclusion. .
