My best response to your well constructed counterpoint is that Vince obeying the blue flags and having a general awareness of his position is part of being a pro, and I presume he would also know that at Indy the lap times are short so they leaders will be coming through the pack into lapped riders that much faster. Him taking the 1-2 seconds to give Eli the right of way safely is not going to prevent him from making his bank like you mentioned. Also, he should give a shit, as a professional, just generally.
