Spongebob Started a new thread Should recreational riders take adderall?
6/20/2014 11:38am Some of these claims about adderall providing a significant performance benefit by turning riders into lazer focused robots had me thinking about the potential for significant safety benefits it could provide to recreational riders. Ignoring the fact you need a prescription to get adderall, wouldn't it be smart for your average recreational rider to take adderall before riding to help...

Spongebob Added a reply to Congrats to Mike Alessi
6/16/2014 8:05pm It was actually pretty entertaining watching Alessi ride. He was clowning over the finish line jump on the last lap of the motos and I could hear him whooping it up in the final laps in the corner I was standing...at first I thought it was his brakes and I was really confused because I had never heard brakes sound...

Spongebob Added a reply to Leatt Helmet from Social Scoop
6/16/2014 7:52pm So pumped to see Leatt enter the helmet game with something original. If the build quality is like their other products I will definitely be considering picking one up. Leatt is one of the few companies in the moto game actually trying to push the protection equipment to a new level rather than just accepting the status quo and padding...
Spongebob Added a reply to 6D helmet users
6/6/2014 11:18pm Ever since I got a pretty bad concussion in a low speed crash riding a pit bike while wearing a brand new helmet I've been researching helmets more. It's just so hard to make a good decision when the official certifications are just pass/fail and they don't release any data. While I am forever sceptical, the theory behind 6D's design...
Spongebob Added a reply to Nick Wey's Bike Stolen
6/6/2014 7:52am I've always wondered why there's hardly ever witnesses when people get their bikes stolen out of a truck during the day in a parking lot?? Doesn't it attract a lot of attention seeing people pull up, take a bike out of one truck and then immediately load it in another vehicle? It would be so conspicuous.

5/8/2014 4:12pm Can't blame MX Sports, they're kind of caught between a rock and a hard place with this one but it's shocking to me the lack of foresight by the manufacturers and the rest of the industry biz.... Women are the fastest growing segment of the motorcycling world which isn't exactly booming right now. You'd think they would be more interested...

5/8/2014 3:25pm "In the context of being asked to help shape the direction of the WMA, American Honda maintained it was not a battle for them to fight. "Ultimately the promoter has to decide these things," said Ray Conway, director of racing motorcycle sports motorcycle division, American Honda.[b] "Honda's position is, we're not going to tell the promoter how to run their...
Spongebob Started a new thread Factory teams and tire changes
5/1/2014 2:17pm I've always wondered how often the factory teams change tires (for wear not tuning reasons) on a typical SX race day. I know they use special compound tires that are softer and less durable than what's on the shelf but it would still be interesting to know. I'm guessing they run a fresh set for the main but does anyone...

Spongebob Added a reply to MC on RV being happy
4/30/2014 1:24pm RV reminds me a lot of Casey Stoner who retired from MotoGP in his prime a couple years ago. He's burnt out and doesn't have that driving passion to ride for the sake of riding anymore and clearly has contempt for the grind of racing. He only seems to get enjoyment from winning, not the actual racing. Compare this to...

4/16/2014 1:40pm Could try Stompgrip. I've never used it but think I might try it out. http://www.stompdesign.com/ http://www.chaparral-racing.com/Product/stompgrip-airbox-side-panel-pro…
Spongebob Added a reply to Knee guards
4/10/2014 6:20pm They're also 10 times as much $. I used to ride in Thor Force knee guards that pivoted with the knee. But I have to say I don't feel much safer wearing asterisks other than additional protection from hyper extension which is pretty rare injury unless you're racing and get rammed in the knee. Knee braces offer better support but...
Spongebob Started a new thread Best way to protect frame rails
4/10/2014 6:16pm Trying to find a way to protect the paint on the frame rails from getting worn down by boots (mostly for looks to keep the frame looking fresh but also to help protect against rust). I have seen those Lightspeed carbon fiber frame guards but they're expensive and I wonder about grit getting in between and rubbing the paint of...

Spongebob Added a reply to Is 15 weeks to long for these guys to get a break?
4/6/2014 2:40pm We should just cancel the whole SX season so no one gets tired or hurt. It's just too hard on the poor riders.
Spongebob Added a reply to A third of the sx guys are out with shoulder injures
4/4/2014 12:58pm Apparently 1/3 of riders don't have it under control
