Don't forget that Caleb only rides four months out of the year because the polar bears come out of hibernation early....

Alessi and Colt were on another level from everyone else. On the hill I was standing next to, both riders were holding it on a lot longer than anyone else, and little things like that is what pushed them so far to the front.

I had binoculars reading the lap times on the mechanics area as well as Alessi's pit board, he was over a second faster than everyone else. When he left the gate in the second moto everyone was already in the first corner. Before the halfway point he had already passed everyone. Tyler Medaglia was holding up Facciotti but still Alessi would have passed him.

I haven't been to a Canadian pro national (or any national for that matter) since 2002 when I watched JSR on a CR250 and Dean Wilson on a YZ85 in Calgary. I learned this weekend how fast Colten really is, he is on another level from everyone except Alessi. But that's expected from a rider who is a top 10 guy in the AMA's.

In the MX2 class Austin Politelli was straight up hauling. In the second moto something happened (might have been said earlier but I missed it) and his bike quit. I didn't quite understand it, because it looked like his bike sputtered and then it must have quit completely because they pushed it back. He was NOT happy, I can understand his frustration but personally I don't think a rider should take his helmet off and slam it on the ground breaking the helmet cam off.

FRIGGIN COLD DAY HOLY COWS IT WAS COLD!!! For June anyway... I heard Alessi say "Winter seems to be a good season to race in Canada"

Youre right. Canadian pro mx is a fuckin cakewalk. Im surprised some of the awesomely skilled broadband champions who post in this forum havent loaded up their bikes and went up there to show those canadian pussies how its done. If Mike Alessi can do o it, then im sure some of the posters in this thread could easily do it. No problem. Jesus h. Christ.

Perhaps you could explain why I'd care even remotely enough that he won. This might come as a shock to you, but after three 17 to 19 hour days in a row hauling crude oil, the last thing I could give a shit about is some mental midget who has never won a title in the US, coming up here and finally getting a legitimate 1-1 finish. Third race in, and he finally pulls it off, in a series that he was supposed to come up here to put on a riding clinic for all involved. Maybe you and Captain SpermBeard, the Desert Pirate, could get together and suck each other dicks. If you can pry him off Tony's long enough to give yours some attention. Be sure and bring along a mini bottle of Scope, so he can "freshen up" for you. Oh wait, he probably always has his own.

It was actually pretty entertaining watching Alessi ride. He was clowning over the finish line jump on the last lap of the motos and I could hear him whooping it up in the final laps in the corner I was standing...at first I thought it was his brakes and I was really confused because I had never heard brakes sound like that until I realized he was yelling lol.

Hill really lagged in the first half of the motos but he really seemed to pick it up near the end, especially the 2nd. The one corner I was standing in they came charging up the valley and Hill kept taking the outside line while carrying so much more speed than everyone else I was amazed he could make the corner without flying into the crowd, I could have reached out and grabbed him he was so close to the edge

Congrats to the Alessi team. I'm not the biggest fan of the Alessi crew but I do respect the fact they said they were going to race in Canada, did it and are doing it well. There's nothing to hate about that.

Are there any off weekends from the Canadian schedule that he could race the US Nationals?
Be good to see him out there - especially since he missed GH.

top 5 rider where? in Canada? sure he is. In the US or GP's not happening. Not now. Sure Mike finished runner up twice but so did Short. RV, RD, JS, Canard, Kenny, Barcia, Tomac, Herlings, Desalle, Cairoli, amongst others would beg to differ with that top 5 ranking. You probably meant Canada though, which I completely agree with.

If Mike were racing the US Nationals this year he would be consistently top 5 and occasional podium. To doubt that just shows your lack of knowledge of the sport.

Are you for real? So you would put Mike in the same boat as Kenny, Dungey, JS, Barcia, Canard, etc? I don't think he's that good. He wasn't top 5 last year and sure RV's injured but Kenny has taken his place. What position did Mike finish in 2013, 7th I believe. I think Mike would finish around there this year too. To think Mike would be podiuming against this field really shows your lack of knowledge about this sport. If Mike was such a podium threat in the U.S. his team would not have taken him up to race in Canada this year.

Where did I say Mike sucks? Mike is one a professional dirt bike rider. That's something I would love to be able to do. Mike is in the top 99.9% of guys in the entire world to ride a dirt bike. Sure I'm not a big fan of Mike, Jeff, Tony and some of their actions, (t-bone, killswitch, laser gate, etc) but I'll still admit that Mike hauls ass on a dirt bike. I just don't think he's one of the top 5 riders in the world. That's my opinion. Maybe you think he is. And while I disagree, I never said he sucks, you did.

An excuse for why MA won of course. You seem even madder than I expected. Stay off the ledge, as I enjoy your rants.

Some of you are just plain ignorant. and some are just douchbags, and on far too many occasions, ignorant douchebags.

Congrats to MA800. Impressive ride.

Thank you Gringoe. At least you have some knowledge of this sport, unlike KennyT who seems to think Mike would be smoking Kenny, JS, Dungey, Canard, etc here, have a huge points lead, and be the surefire favorite for this years AMA outdoors championship. lol

PO'd in NS - I'm going to miss the Riverglade round for a family function that has established itself as the only annual 'you're going' event on our calender.

Damn.

Guess I'll have to forego and make do with all the beer I can drink and crab & lobster I can eat.

Then again I could run to Quebec either the weekend before or weekend after. Hmmm....
