5/31/2024 3:02pm Here’s how it sits now. 6 months in the making. Made it as close to the look of a 94 I could. still need to put the chain on, and retorque the bolts. Then it’ll be ready to go.

Yup. SX is literally a circus show now. This is what "Growing the sport" is going to bring more of. There have been a few great moments this season, but all in all, the sport isn't even close to what it once was.

Last year a typical non race day at the track consisted of me starting with a 3 lap warm up, then break, 4 or 5 laps, break, 5 laps, break,hit some trails, break, 6 laps, break, etc. until I was content to call er a day. No question. SX was far superior on 2 strokes and the older tracks. It's not even close. SX has been inching ever closer to Nitro Circus every year. They're selling the "Thrills, Chills and Spills" extreme sport aspect now. Most of the newer tracks have become a 44 second arenacross joke.

I was trying to sneak this pic but she caught my at the last second lol. Shes had a pw, an sx mini, an sx, and lately her ttr110.. been wanting to race for the last year or so but no local classes for the ttr.. a southern ohio buckeye series has a girls 7-11 65 class. Shes got some practice ahead of her but she took to my klx140 clutch in minutes, so i think shell be ok on this soon enough!

Thanks all. I hope to ride them as much as my schedule will allow. I really miss the days if hitting a track every week. Not so likely with two kids in sports on the weekends. But I built them to ride and enjoy while I get passed by kids on minis. I tried starting the 250 today and wouldn't start without starting fluid, ran for a minute then got the waa waaa waaa dead. Pulled the carb and the pilot was blocked. But I also ordered a new float valve since I didnt replace that part. Hope to have...

This kid has no interest in an electric bike. I love the idea of them as all the things you stated are really nice features. He has the Stacyc and keeps saying he wants one with an engine and an exhaust lol. The maintenance stuff doesn’t bother me… it’s something I enjoy doing and I will really enjoy teaching that stuff to my son.

3/22/2024 6:33pm I did the same thing with my kid last year. Bought an 03 mini adventure. He’s done pretty well, but hasn’t really felt the full power of the bike yet - this year he’ll have the opportunity to go as fast as he wants.
