Attention to detail is all relative. I see areas where I could actually do more. I consider myself always the student. So I’m always looking to learn. It’s helpful knowing what is out there for restored. Checking out what others are doing. This actually helps me push my own perceived limitations. I had to plough through all the multiple of parts to get to where I can build. The actual building is satisfying since you will soon be done. But this part only uncovers more work as you deal with fitment issues. When you get to the build stage it...

1994. This is a relatively clean power valve compared to the 93 I am doing now. Night and day difference. Based on what I have seen with these is this contamination is common. These possibly only get cleaned when top ends are done. And rightfully so. I would not clean this with any sprayed fluid while on the bike. You can remove the power valves while the cylinder is on the bike. I am polishing the main components of the valve. Cerakote on the others. The hope is that contamination will be less likely to adhere on a smoother surface...

Big update. I did not get scammed by Claudio at Mastercross and my parts showed up today. I am super stoked! The bike had to have a cone pipe, I just couldn’t put a platinum finish or even the raw stamped pipes just didn’t do it for me.

I put a set of 2007 Showa’s on this bike. Fully rebuilt of course. As much as I would like to use stock forks the issue becomes the outers. They are generally sun bleached and pitted from roost. If I’m going to go to as much efforts as I am the front end needs to look impressive. When there is pitting it’s near impossible to do anything about that when recoating with anodize. The pits readily show through. The 1994 will have a set of later model twin chamber Showa’s that suffer from the pitting issue through the anodize. The...

Take the UFO roller off. Remove the bearings. Use a threaded bolt with 2 large washer on each side. Chuck up this in a drill. Spin the drill against a sanding/abrasive surface. Should give you a pretty uniform relief. I did it today for the 94. The one in the image I did by just holding it and turning it with my fingers against an abrasive wheel. Those annoying threads that protrude out from within the hoses. I use a lighter to burn the away. It’s the small stuff. These radiators may not look like I did much with them...

Well one down… Four more to go. Im actually already to put the completed rebuilt lower end of the motor on the 1995 in the frame tomorrow. As soon as I garaged this 96 I grabbed another motor the same day. I will be covering the 95 rebuild very soon.

Thanks brother. It has come together pretty well. That UFO plastic looks pretty good once on the bike. It doesn’t look so great in the packaging. But for these year Honda’s it’s the best offering out there.

Scored a 1996 CR80 in a box today. Dude on FB marketplace was cleaning out a garage and was giving it away for free. It was all there minus cylinder, head, intake, carb and all motor mounts/swing arm bolt. So now I have a 96 80, 125 & 250. Going to dress up the 80 like the others.
