I guess before you take it in, were you shown proper start up procedure? Its pretty much the same as the tpi models and is not really covered well. Tap the start button to wake the bike up, wait 5 seconds and do it again, the after about 10 seconds fire the bike and let it idle with zero throttle input until the radiators are warm (engine is warm) and then click high idle off and clear out. If you give it throttle before it warms up it will lock it into whatever amount of mixing and fueling it is...

So make sure you have plenty of fuel or grab the f brake and push the forks up and down a few times. The new fuel pumps don’t pick up off the bottom but have a well that fuel splashes into. As long as your riding it’s fine but if your get low on fuel and let it idle long enough with the bike sitting it can run out of fuel. May not be your issue but I have seen that.

You rode it for 3 hours with it running like that? Or was it running fine, then started acting up after 3 hours?

Fuel & oil mixture? Map 1 or 2? Air filter over oiled? Type of riding? Is cold start button popping back to “off”? As noted, replace inline filter, but being brand new, back to dealer for diagnosis…possible Ecu needs reflash or TPS setting outbif spec….

Seliga96 Started a new thread 2024 sx300 won’t start

Just picked up a 2024 sx300. I’ve ran it a few times, less than 3 hours on the bike and it seems to just want to bog out and stall then never start. Clean the plug/put new plug in and same thing. The odd time get lucky to where it will run through, any ideas ? Thanks

I just had the dealer I got it from look it over, they put a new plug in it. did a few tests, seem to solve the sputter until after racing. Then I noticed it came back a bit. How do you check fuel pressure?

Yeah definitely think it’s a government thing somehow. I’ve just hear some where they don’t sputter. Just not sure what to do

Would that work to redo a stock ECU?? or stock ones just will always have it to some degree ??

I turned up the idle. It's annoying. Mine is with a vortex and learned tps using the start kill button method. Mine flamed out riding through the pits and spat me over the bars. It hurt and was embarrassing lol

Yeah it’s never cut out on me or stalled. But definitely puffs and spits. so turn the idle up more ? and what do you mean the start and kill switch method hahah ?

Have a 2023 sxf 450 around 10 hours now. Took to the dealer and had a remap and TPS relearn program ran. Seemed to help, but after racing on the weekend it seemed to come back? 1st and 2nd gear I notice just riding back to the truck and letting off the gas once low RPM the bike will puff...

If the clutch is engaged it doesn’t do the sputtering/popping. Is that still possible ?

Pull the exhaust off and look for black streaking at the joints and the exhaust flange. That would indicate a leak. Ensure the surface is clean and when you put it back together make sure it is seated squarely . I always use a small amount of high temp RVT silicone on the header and antisieze on the mid pipe and can.

The mapping is a bit jerky herky on the bottom and the motor is tight, I stalled quite a bit and I also think the funky gearing makes the above worse. It does free up a bit, I was lucky since I had a vortex from previous bike and got it remapped. Runs loads better and with a torque map, I am thinking about 49t down from 50 that is down from 51 stock. Maybe a new fuel filter incase it's a bit of manufacturing debris as well.
