Wonder how many we see in mx2. Mikula, Prugnieres, Chambers, Adamo and Karssemakers had issues at Loket or did not start. Rossi is on the list but out for the season. Benistant and Fredriksen i have no idea if they will be back on the bike. Could be less then 30 to start the weekend. I dont really like it that riders who are faster them the slowest in mxgp prefer emx open over mxgp.

Without doubt my favourite GP of the year at the epicentre of European MX. Seeing an inform Herlings on this track should be epic. As for Mewse, I dunno, with his current form & his riding skills in the sand he should be just inside the top 10 but with his past GP form I will say somewhere between 15-20.

TX from elsewhere but on factory teams. Afaik nobody pays 1000 per race. Its either become an OAT team for a lump sum (that is not 1000 per race) and commit to all GP's or enter via wildcards. The advantage of the OAT is that you are secured of a spot and you get significant support for the travel to the overseas Grand Prix. But you have to commit to all. The cost for that is not 1.000 per GP.

The 1000 euro has been dropped for a couple of years. It is 300 euro nowadays. Also Tumic is wrong about not qualifying. MXGP has no 40 place limit, there is pre-qualifying in case over 40 riders enter. It has happened i think twice last season. The issues unfortunately are much deeper then just entry fee or some prize money. It's the entry, no purses, no contigency plan from any of the brands, often no support from national dealers/importers, the cost of fuel in europe ($8+ per gallon petrol), competition from national championships because they do pay purses, no outlook...

Things like this…passing off these events as part of a World Championship combined with the ridiculous lack of real competition at these 3rd World GPs is embarrassing. No worries. Over here…our little “National Series” had pllllllenty of riders from pllllllenty of countries competing from a 40 man gate that…what was it…70+ riders were competing for a shot at….?
