Hi all, I have recently had the idea of joining a motocross club. I live in York in North Yorkshire UK. I’m not sure which club is best to join and the benefit from a club. Rob

Yeah I think I’ll stick with my 2 stroke and just continue to look after it and race it as all the opinions on this forum I’ve taken on board and see no reason to get a new bike just yet aha. I’ll try my best in school only a few months to go. Thankyou for your advice, Rob

Yeah it’s a good city. Like you say I might just rock my Yz for a while as it is as fun as it comes. I’m wanting to go to college to become a mechanical engineer so maybe in the future a 4t addition may be a good idea to learn the ins and outs of a 4 stroke properly...

Ah nice, York is one my favourite cities in the UK, beautiful place. I really wouldn't bother with finance mate, your yz is fine for motocross. I financed a bike before and it isn't worth it, you end paying more and it feels like your paying forever. There's plenty of people who win races at club level on 2 strokes up and down the country every Sunday.

Find a friend who has a four stroke and go ride theirs. It should be pretty apparent why the majority of people can go faster on the four stroke. I am sure I will get blasted for that statement there, but it is all about tracking and comfort.

I bought my YZ250 in full hence why i can afford to finance something new in a few months. My YZ250 tires me out on a MX track but in harescrambles and stuff like that im fine with. My buddies YZ250F ive ridden once on a MX track for a lap and i wasnt as worn out. I work for...

Because a 4 stroke 250 is faster than the 125 two stroke. The 450 is faster than a 250 two stroke. Thats why. Wasnt aware you were in the UK. I still dont like the idea of a kid in college financing toys like that regardless if its “free”. Im just guessing.. but working a part time job and paying $100 a month doesnt add up when you already have a paid for bike thats perfectly fine to ride.

Nah im from York in North Yorkshire. When i say 'free' i mean its not like private school where you literally have to pay for school. College is free to attend too apart from pens and pads etc etc but that still leaves me enough room to finance a bike if that would be better for MX.

College in the UK is not the same as college in the US, I have no idea what it's US equivalent would be. But yeah, there's seems no point in getting another bike when you have one that's perfectly adequate.

Over here in the UK we dont pay for college or education hence why i would be in the position to finance a new bike. The dealer said it would be around £100 a month or something which is about 3 days a weeks wages. Ive never ridden a 4t and was just kinda wondering why do people ride the...

4t rules in MX and GNCC and Sprint Enduros. 2t's are fun and cheap and pretty close and become the preferred choice in tighter enduro and Extreme races where lifting the bike is required. Unless you get a Beta 2t which has upheld 2t honor Smile against 4t's in Enduro GP. Enjoy.

My advice is this. Youre just going into college and want to finance a $8,000 toy? that 2 stroke is going to be perfectly fine and cheaper to maintain and rebuild. Youre not going to be more competitive on a 250f. Throw a flywheel weight on the yz you got and it will make it easier to ride. Use the $8000 to pay for school. Of all the situations there could be to finance a motorcycle, this one is pretty bad.

Hi all, Firstly i just want to say that i dont want to start a war between 2t and 4t. I currently have a 2017 YZ250 2t which i bought in December last year and for a 16 year old i thought that buying it myself with money id worked for was a big achievement for me, it has all...

Robert Sanders Started a new thread What helmet to buy

3/7/2019 11:49pm
Hi all, After my last thread i have persuaded myself to spend a bit more on a lid as your all right in saying my head is more important than the rest of my kit. Ive narrowed it down to either a 6D or a FLY or Bell helmet but not sure which models i should be looking at. NEW...

I see you're from GBR, you can get a leftover Bell Moto 9 Flex for that price. I don't think you'll find a better helmet than that in that price category. And i think it is a better option than the first 6D helmet that in my opinion has some basic flaws with it (too heavy, big, didn't fit me well, low quality interior considering the price). You might be able to find a 6D ATR-1 for the same price as a Bell Flex helmet but i would buy the newest 6D ATR-2 if i would buy a 6D again.
