What helmet to buy

Edited Date/Time 3/7/2019 11:49pm
Hi all,

After my last thread i have persuaded myself to spend a bit more on a lid as your all right in saying my head is more important than the rest of my kit. Ive narrowed it down to either a 6D or a FLY or Bell helmet but not sure which models i should be looking at.

NEW BUDGET: £500 - £600

Any help would be appreciated. I dont know if this helps but im a Large helmet size and a fairly fast rider (probably doesnt matter ).

Thankyou all.

Any of the 3 would be a good buy. I really want to check out the new Fly helmet. The 6D ATR1 that I tried on a few years ago was super uncomfortable, but I'm sure that's changed since then.

After wearing nothing but shoeis since -14 i bought two fasthouse flex helmets.
You kinda look like a dick with these liveries but the helmets are overall pretty nice, had to sell my girlfriend to afford them but we all make choices

Have you tried each of these models on? They're all good, so I would go with the one that fits best. For me, that's a Bell.

If you want something different check out the UFO Diamond Helmet.

Not only do they have their own technology but they also manufacture their helmets in their facility in Italy.

As you can see if you search for "Bell Moto 9 Flex" on eBay.co.uk you will find them for around 300 (leftover graphics).
Thankyou ill check them out.

Kinda curious, did you not notice a huge fitment difference between the Shoei VFX-W and Bell Flex?? I have a Bell Moto 8 (first mx helment) and it fits horrible, huge pressure point on my forehead. The Shoei fits me like a glove. Both are a size Small (I have an extra small head liner in the Shoei). What's your take on the fitment between the two?

OP, go with what fits the best is my recommendation if you're buying within a price range.

I tried getting a Bell flex helmet last year after being in Shoei's forever and the Bell just didn't fit me either. I had pressure points as well. I am a medium in Shoei. In the Bell I tried both a medium and large and even tried different size cheek pads and still the medium was too tight and the large was too loose. Both felt uncomfortable to me compared to a Shoei for my head.

No issues at all for me, i have small sizes and the only thing i noticed was the chin coushings being a bit tight, but no fitment issues
