Sorry, no funny stories or "too good to pass up" pricing. I worked at and raced for the local Yamaha dealer. They would have kinda frowned on me if I went and bought a CR500. The shop owner kept telling me to shut up about how good my buddies CR was.[/quote:533d4] What shop did you work at, and where?

4/16/2016 5:59pm
Yup. I switched to YZ's in 1975 (Myerscough Machine), but kept the XR for 'mud races.' The old man finally sold it in '76 to keep me off it---he was an early 4-stroke hater. Even a 'punched out' XR couldn't run with the YZ's in '76 (Ward excepted).[/quote:f80f0] Yup, Jeff Ward was my hero when I was a...

4/16/2016 5:58pm
That was 1983 and the scooter was an xr75 that his brother Brett rode him to the hospital and back on that day. The reason for the backed up traffic was the drag boat races at Irvine lake on the same day.[/quote:05094] I had some good battles with both of Mike's brothers, Scott and Brett back in 1982. Good guys.

3/27/2006 9:16pm KTM, That was not in the morning practice, that was an actual race. At that time, I was racing 250 novice. Are you sure that is your buddy behind me? Judging by the size of the exhaust pipe on his bike, it looks like a 250 to me.
