Remember whne he got beanged up on suicide mountain and needed stitches. Traffic was backed up on Santiago Canyon and Too Tall could not get back on time for moto 1 til someone on a scooter went and picked him up. Even with stitches he placed top 5 that day. '82 or '83?

That was 1983 and the scooter was an xr75 that his brother Brett rode him to the hospital and back on that day. The reason for the backed up traffic was the drag boat races at Irvine lake on the same day.

I had some good battles with both of Mike's brothers, Scott and Brett back in 1982. Good guys.

I had the honor of growing up with Mike & his family.

Even went to high school with him, I got to watch him race almost every weekend at the CMC races.

I got to chance to see Mike at the 2004 Evo-sports Vintage Pro.Am

bell was an inspriation to me because i always heard about his 55 moto win streak in socal or something like that. well after my girlfriend fugged me over i was so pissed that i wanted to prepare for the nats and become rich and famous then flaunt it in her face!

i decided to see if i could beat or at least come close to his record but do it in norcal instead. won 13 motos in a row and went down at baylands wed nite mx and broke my hand. end of the streak and only 5 weeks away from southwick 500 nat opener but that's another story.
