Which model year, and what manufacturer came out with the first production:
1) single shock rear suspension
2) water cooling
3)disc brakes
4)inverted forks

I think Yamaha had the monoshock in 1975
Suzuki first watercooled in 81

Yamaha, Honda were also water cooled in 1981. Not sure about Kawasaki. I thought the first mono shock was in 1976 on the production YZ's, very well could be wrong though. Disc brakes I think came out in 1986?? Inverted forks, not sure, maybe 1989.
Not very good at this trivia shit.

2. Mugen 1980 ME125 (very limited but available)
3. Honda 1984 (front only)
4. Honda 1989 I think.

Were't the first water cooled bikes just water-cooled heads with finned cylinders?

I think KTM was running USD forks in the mid-early 80's.

It wasn't raced in the US though. 1976 Bob Hannah and Danny Turner had OW27's. Both the 1975 and 1976 bikes had fins as well as water jackets. Then Shinobi had that kit for the head only.

Yeah, the Rokon's did have disc brakes. '74, '75? Remember the motocross movie that came out in the mid-70's "Sidewinder II". The Maico with disc brakes and star spoke wheels?

My 85 KTM500 had inverted forks. Rokon had a front disc in 73'
Suz, Kaw, Honda and KTM all had water cooled bikes in 81. Yamaha had 125, 250 and 360 monoshocks in 1975.

If I remember right Don Kudalski used to race for the Rokon Team in '73 or '74.

saw Kudalski at St.Pete in 74 on a Rokon. Rokon Don they were calling him. I think he won a moto that day on it!

The reason I said it... Because I remembered in the back of my mind of him showing up at the old North Florida Speedway once with it. He was also team mates with Marty Tripes and Rex Staten on the Harley-Davidson MX Team.

Remember when Don was hired by Honda to ride support class. I remember watching him pull holeshot at the Daytona Supercross in '76 on the factory RC's. Great stuff, Don was one of the coolest guys around the Florida MX scene in the 70's.

I didn't want a water cooled bike! To much pluming. One more thing to go wrong.

First year for Kawasaki watercoolers was 1982. 80-81 models were dry barrels. 83 was their first liquid 250.
