Red7 Added a reply to KYB forks on a ktm

Thanks guys! I ride mostly MX. Enzo in Cali does all my KYB stuff and I typically go with the national fork tubes. I'll have to weigh going with inserts vs putting in one of my pairs of SSS forks but it's good to know the offset is about 3mm so I know what I'm dealing with. At the end...

Has anyone compared the fork Lug offset between the KYB SSS and the WP? I have 3 450s and a 250f at home and have been hoping Yamaha would come out with a 350 but its not looking promising. So I may break down and buy a KTM 350 soon but only if I put on a pair of my...
In my experience, SDI is an awesome company to deal with. I buy shims and some other things from them for my personal projects and to help out my buddies. I bet their perches are good if you're willing to play with port area and position. I do run some restrictive perches in two of my bikes. First, I built a set of my own to test with 20 holes at 7/64" diameter (2.78mm). They were too restrictive when I tested them in my 2019 YZ250. I enlarged half of the ports and they work well. Currently they are in...

Is that a normal characteristic of after market perches/spring tubes? That's kind of what I experienced with the first setup I got from enzo with the spring tubes on my 2023 KX450. Landing on bigger jumps, it would quickly move through the stroke and then ramp up quickly at the end. Granted, the KX450's forks are like wet noodles so...
Are there any negatives to aftermarket spring perches/spring tubes? I had never used them before until Enzo recommended spring tubes on my 2023 KX450. Those forks came from the factory incredibly soft so even going up to 5.2 NM springs for my 200 lb naked weight, they were bottoming very easily but part of that could be because Enzo recommended...

Rider triangle is one thing I've always liked about the KXs. I'm only 6', 200lbs but compared to Keefer (also 6') it sounds like my preferences are for having even more room. I know the '23 YZ addressed that but I also know there are some aftermarket ways of adjusting pegs down and back. What's the most they can be...

Does anyone know of someone who makes PROGRESSIVE springs for the Showas? That may be my biggest issue as an air spring is generally more progressive while a metal spring is usually more linear (doesn't get stiffer as it compresses). The first setup I got back after having it revalved felt pretty good in the top 1/3 of the stroke...

Reading/watching the shootouts and reviews, it seems pretty unanimous that most people prefer the 2023 YZ450 to the 2022. Are there many here who actually prefer the 2022 or is the rider triangle, width, weight and turnability that much better. I have a brand new 2022 that I could get from a dealer for $7200 out the door but the...

Umm yeah Chris, like 100 times but unfortunately it was after the fact. Honestly, I didn't realize just how good my Racetech setup of my 2013 air forks were until I've been comparing them to these Showas. I figured they were good for 10 year old forks but given how much Keefer and others shit on the airforks, I figured...

I'm struggling with the forks on this bike and am trying to figure out if I'm being unrealistic in my expectations. I believe I mentioned in my original post that I'm coming off of my 2013 KX450F which has the kyb PSF1 air forks. That was my reference to compare my 2023 to initially, and the past few months since...

That's good to hear! I have a fuel pump rebuild kit arriving soon and I'll rebuild it. My 2013 KX450 has been so dependable so hopefully this is just a one off issue with my 2023 KX450 or I may have to consider switching brands. You'd figure that the 3rd year in a new generation, they'd have all the bugs...

Did they cover the cost and install it or just give you the pump and you installed it? If the bike is cold, it seems to fire up but the trouble I had the other day started during the 2nd session when the bike was hot. I don't know if they'll warranty the pump if they can't replicate the issue...

I typed in my bike's VIN and it doesn't sound like mine is part of the recall. Do you have to put in the bike's serial number or the fuel pumps? For those who've had issues, does mine sound like a fuel pump issue or something else? A guy at the track said it sounded like a valve issue like...

What are the symptoms of a bad fuel pump? I'm wondering if I'm having this issue on my 2023 KX450. The last 3 times I've ridden it, it's gotten harder to start where I have to hold the button a lot longer (warm or cold) and roll on the throttle as it would just crank without firing with no throttle...
No idea, we went to a track a few months ago and my son got hooked so I bought a new 450 and he got a new 250 and we're hitting the tracks 2x a week. The pit bike track hasn't been used in a few months so it was kind of a waste but I didn't know he'd be...

Red7 Added a reply to KX 450 FI calibration tool help

Rather than starting a new thread, I figured I'd revive this one to keep the info together since surprisingly, this is the only forum thread I've come across on the KX Calibration tool. I bought one on Marketplace for $150 and it came with everything except the sub-harness. Do I need that or can I program couplers without it and...
