Yes, it's a bit strange that they are doing the 250F in USA, instead of the 310. You'd think the 310F, as, like the 3002T EFI, it would not 'interfere' with the Yamaha 250s ( of either type) sales. Though, for me, they would - either Fan(Yam)tic, I'd buy over the 250 versions. Highland Cycles on YouTube brought in a 300 - they've a fare few videos on it, the most recent is on it being on a ride down in Mexico.
