Anyone that sponsors this family should really reconsider their support, well unless they have an EKS brand sponsorship, that would be fitting…

My boy is the same age and rode with Knox a few times at their kids track. I wouldn't say we know him but he seemed like a nice kid, mom too. Never really met the dad there. Now I will say, I was looking at getting my boy in their afternoon training sessions but having second thoughts now. Too bad Eddie didn't just come clean and admit he messed up big time. I bet he's only mad at himself for not cheating better to not get caught.

The fact he tried to shift ANY of the blame away from himself to his own kid was CRAZY! “We didn’t even want him to race! He wanted to so we had to do it.” Imagine being a grown ass man and pointing your finger at your 5 year old child saying well he made us do it! Also admitting to running the cheater bike at the qualifiers to get in makes it even worse. And then refusing to even apologize! What a loser. “What’s apologizing going to do? People are still going to be mad at me.” I mean...

My main takeaway from that interview is that Eddie Ray is not very intelligent and his kid will learn absolutely nothing from this.

Cheaters always assume everyone else is cheating. That whole interview was embarrassing. You could tell right away with his story telling nonsense that he was going to justify and defend the entire time, which he did. This is the only solution: "I'm embarrassed and disgusted with my behavior. I got caught up in this crazy world of being a 50cc parent. I lied to myself and came up with every possible excuse in my head to justify cheating. I cheated a poor kid from getting a ticket to Lorettas at the regional. I realize now that I planned to cheat...

That was so cringeworthy. He's a friend of the show so they let him ramble on, but all he did was dig that hole deeper in my opinion. That caller hit the nail on the head when he said the moment you follow your "I was wrong" with a "but", it takes away all accountability. To say, it's ok to cheat because he only thought the kid was only going to get 10th at best is such bullshit... basically it's like saying he's only sorry (actually not even that), because they got caught. And the worst part is that it...

Man, that made the situation even worse. If you don't care about your kid racing, then why cheat? Dude made zero sense and just rambled on.

Eddie Ray whole excuse is his kids to big for a pw so instead of moving him up a class he decides to cheat. Dudes a loser just say we cheated and got caught instead he's trying to convince everyone it was cool.

Cool, when does Loretta’s get a Stacyc class? My point is that it’s the amateur nationals, and as you said, these kids are beginners. Beginners don’t belong at a national. Ride/Race at every track they want, just not a national. or if you want to keep the pdub class, add a 250 beginner class, literally everything you said about the PW class would apply.

Seems like it would be more economical for everyone to show up and buy a brand new bike as opposed to building a bike to skirt the rules. They could take it home a sell and recoup most of their money, or mod the shit out of it and race it locally.

It’s because the parents are past champions at LL. You would think they would see what it takes to be a champion and do it the right way. I think they have a training facility, as well, based on some comments? If so, they set a great example for those looking up to them for guidance.

SM is still one of the best classes to race at a local level, with huge fields and reasonable cost. You're not going to win the runoffs with a crate motor, but you can battle near the front at regional races. Racing always turns into a money spending contest sooner or later and people will cheat. It's just how humans work. See people doping to win age group triathlons or masters cycling races lolol

So, that means that in order for a kid to compete, the parents know that they have to cheat, and every parent knows that every other parent is also cheating. That needs to be fixed. Either enforce the current rules, or change them, so that the class is still fair. It sounds like, apart from someone running a huge overbore, the class is fair now, but every once in a while, someone is going to get popped and embarrassed, for doing what every one else in the class is also doing. Increasing displacement by 20% is not alright. If the...

Not to keep beating this but 3 extra ccs at 50-60-70cc makes a pretty substantial difference especially when set up properly. "Fully modded" i play around with motors this size a lot and guys share dyno numbers. Think of a guy in the 250 class running a 265 kit. Same percent, idk man seems like a big deal to me.
