I think "supercross-only" as a career strategy no longer makes sense, at least for those wanting to win championships. You can't not race at the top level for 8 months straight and expect to just show up in January and be competitive against the likes of Ryan Villopoto, plus Chad, Trey and Pourcel that all have winning speed and SX...

OldTiddler Added a reply to Hitch bike mounts....reliable?

I've had a couple, and have used them exclusively for transport over the past 5 years. I got one from eTrailer.com that was great, and the one I am using now is a Harbor Freight job, which is less solid but still worth the $30 I paid for it. Hopefully you have or will get at least class 3.5 hitch...

I ride a 125 for that exact reason, I love the challenge of having to keep up my technique to stay with other riders. I'm 180lbs.; at 190 you're going to be struggling a bit to make that big double out of the corner. The good news is you won't need to change brakes very often, because you won't be...

Tim I gave it up too, 2 years ago when ACE in Sanford closed, my best riding buddy "retired", and I was sick of rebuilding the bike every few weeks. I was burnt out. For 2 years I spent my time and money on "normal" things, like house projects and catching up at work. It became freakin' boring. Last month...

It may also be possible that there's some blockage in either the radiators and/or coolant hoses/passages that is causing the pressure from the pump to build and vent out the hose. Especially since it seems to increase with the revs.

OldTiddler Added a reply to RM125 Carb keeps running fuel out overflow

4/24/2011 7:43pm
It's normal for some fuel to come out when putting it on a stand, since you're tipping the bike a bit and what's in the bowl will spill over a little, but not while it's sitting still/upright. All the fuel comes through and is shut off by that float valve, so overflow means it's not stopping the flow for some...

i've got a yardstick with a nail in it that I stick in the axle, and stick a pencil (sharp side out) in the seat bolt hole to mark the distance

I agree that Justin pushes the limits of "sportsmanship" with his passes. He put a couple on Wilson last year outdoors that stand out as among the most blatant I've seen recently. On the other hand, he's racing for a championship here. If what he's doing isn't being ruled a foul by the governing body, then why wouldn't he do...

Not everyone can be at the top, because then, there would be no "top". And, not everyone can be the "cream", because then we would all get sick of cream and just put too much sugar in our coffee instead.

OldTiddler Added a reply to Dallas coverage an insult to the sport

Have a look at TV ratings. The fact that "Jersey Shore" tops cable programming should tell you something. Producers know that the inane is popular, especially among MX crowd, who show up in droves with neck tats and Mulisha gear. I enjoyed the racing coverage.
