So honest question If heavy tariffs sent the market spiralling down, and pulling back the reins on tariffs to 10% made the market rebound,What what would zero tariffs and free trade do?

I earn decent money, but I'll tell you, I'm glad I don't need a new dirt bike, or really anything in the near and medium future. Wife and I are I guess hunkering down for the next 4 years. No spending on anything too costly. Maybe a vacation this year? Not even sure about that now. My retirement that kicked so much ass has been literally clobbered. And I did move around 50% of my equity investments to interest and bond funds. Fuckin sucks, but as everyone has heard over and over, elect a clown, expect a circus.

We complain about the EPA but don't talk about rivers catching on fire, our dilapidated railways causing entire towns to be evacuated after crashes, fracking causing earthquakes and polluted water tables. Our infrastructure is nowhere close to being up to the task of today's manufacturing demands we have outsourced. An infrastructure investment must happen first before we just tax ourselves into forced self-sufficiency. Bringing back a roaring industrial era is more like a 20-30 year plan.

“Reciprocal Tariffs” ^^^ this is a lie. The US has free trade agreements with Jordan, Singapore, Chile, Morocco, Australia, Dominican Republic, Bahrain, Oman, Peru, Korea, so there are no tariffs for US goods exported to those countries, zero, zilch, nothing. All the numbers for other countries have no relationship with tariffs for US goods exported to those countries.

I think there are a few misunderstandings here. Trump faithful/loyalists/diehards here see posts against him and this tariff situation and think oh you're just mad about the pain you're going to feel. Can't speak for everybody but no, it's more like concern and disbelief that you really can't see the damage this is causing and will cause to the USA more than anyone else.
