motogeeze Added a reply to Membership Fee???

11/19/2009 8:15pm
Paying a yearly membership to me is a gamble because I personally wouldnt get to ride enough at the one track to justify up front costs ($35 bucks isnt going to break the bank but its still almost two more days of riding if you only got to come out there three times).. Im willing to pay a bit more...

motogeeze Added a reply to simons forks and fox airshocks

The coolness factor alone with that setup will carve seconds off your laptimes for sure...granted a Race Tech'd set of Maico forks and a modern set of shocks from Ohlins, Works Performance , Race Tech or any other more recent manufacturer would probably work better . those Simons fetch ludicrous bucks when you can find em for sale and the...

I think the longer ones of about 17.5 are most in demand because they fit the GP class of bikes which is probably the most popular long travel twinshock class in AHRMA, the historic class bikes that run the shorter 14 - 15 inch shocks are a little less sought after from what I can tell. Ive got a set...

Andy, PitRacer is correct in that the AHRMA Ultima class is restricted to drum brake , linkage suspension, non powervalve machines up to 1984.. However our vintage club here in Georgia (Southeast Vintage Motocross) and also the Florida club (FLVMX) has a class that includes this era of machine. Our evo3 ,as its known ,runs from 82-87 and includes all rear...

motogeeze Added a reply to How Cagiva WMX 500 was like

I rode a WMX 500 in '86 while awaiting delivery of my Mstar from Pro Cycle in Snellville Ga. He was a Cagiva/Mstar dealer and had one on demo so I got to ride it for most of that spring and summer. It was suprisingly "Maicoish" in its ergo's and how it handled. An Ohlins shock did a decent job...

Just look back at the three wheelers when they first came out...all the injurys and lawsuits lead to thier demise as well..now you see the same kind of thing with inexperienced, untrained "drivers" a lot of which are younger kids and other assorted clueless individuals who havent the foggiest how to handle difficult situations and rough terrain. Some learn, some...

I think Broc Glover , David Bailey and others were in the film as well. at least they tried to make it as real as possible but the plot was about as hokey as you could get. .I do remember it was so cool to see the top riders of the time in a movie and one about motocross!! Unheard...
Nice..this generation of bikes is going to hopefully bolster the vintage racing scene. Still fairly affordable and easy to get parts for and attractive to the "younger" crowd of racers who may have grown up with these bikes more so than the twinshock and early single shock bikes. .

Too often the negative , sensationalist stories get the press, this affirms my opinion that the majority of "our" guys are good, caring, hardworking people that will go the extra mile to help their fellow riders in need whether it be at the track or supporting downed and injured riders, great job Trey and Kyle! Thanks for being tremendous examples for...
