There is a world wide problem for riders that has been pro’s and now just want to race for fun. If you have been fast once upon a time, there is a good chance that 90% of your max speed will stay with you for MANY years. Even 10 years after i stopped racing as a pro I could not line up and race a VET or Vintage class without complaints from others that i did not belong there. But where should I ride if I have not trained or raced seriously for 10 years?. The pro classes was not...

8/5/2026 12:37pm So you’re saying that Cole Davies (who doesn’t have the red plate) wins are against one of the weakest fields ever? Or does that only apply to Deegan? Here’s a fun fact. Guys like Levi Kitchen, Jo Shimoda, Seth Hammaker, and the like, are the same riders Jett and Hunter Lawrence raced against in the 250 class.

Comparison really is the thief of enjoyment - and it's still funny to see the same meltdowns in this thread and across the whole site. Even when someone puts some nice effort into a post. I will say I was one of the ones who thought he’d struggle against the top 10. The only reason he’s zero’d out on the stats is because the Lawrence’s. He’s still empty on the scoreboard but he’s been better than I thought he’d be.

8/5/2026 9:15am The most you can draw from those stats is that their rookie 450 seasons are somewhat similar, not that Deegan is Barcia 2.0. As you said, only time will tell, but Barcia (or Windham for that matter) didn’t enter the 450 class with 2 250 outdoor titles. That alone separates Deegan from them.

8/1/2026 11:52am A part of winning is staying healthy. Ask Ryan Dungey. So far, Sacha is injured as is his brother, Lucas, who is for all practical purposes, out of contention for the MXGP title. Being fast is a good thing. Being fast with crashes and injuries is another.
