1/25/2024 8:07am Selling a nice KTM125SX. Did a major overhaul last winter. Less than 10 hours on the below: New sprocket, chain, fork seals, fork oil, most all of the chassi bearings, power valve assembly removed and cleaned, Wiseco top end, rear or front brake pads (can't remember which needed), new tires, 200lb and 250 lb rear spring. Has FMF silencer and...

1/21/2024 6:48am Ya I tried finding a water pump shaft but for an 89 doesn't look like they still make them unless they used the same shaft on new models. I paid $2000 which I thought was a good deal but I think the market is changing. I'm seeing great condition 10 year old 2 strokes sitting for weeks when priced in...

1/21/2024 6:43am The pump shaft might be grooved where the seal lip rides. The seal could be bad, or the shaft bearing could be roached, which would allow the shaft to move enough to cause a leak. $1200 is a good price for it!

LCH Started a new thread Best electric start bike?
1/18/2024 5:55pm I bought my dad a really clean 2001 XR400 for putting around the farm. He's got bad knees and it's a little too hard for him to start. Want to get him something with electric start and kickstand. The TTRs are too small. Is there a "YZ, CR, KX etc. 125" sized bike that would be better suited?

1/14/2024 11:15am No luck on marketplace so I thought I'd give it a whirl here for giggles. Nice shape for its age. Has a full Pro Circuit exaust. Starts and runs great but it leaks coolant into the bottom end. A guy replaced all the gaskets and pressure tested the jug and no leaks so my guess is pump seal or pump...

7/4/2023 4:39pm Those are for the keihin pwk air striker carbs. The keihin short body is called the short body AG. The current tmx-x carbs off the 06 -21 yz125 would work also. Or the ones off the current ktm's. But I would go with the pwk myself easier to jet.

7/4/2023 3:33pm I misunderstood your posting. I see now the wording explains the short body and the diagram pertains to the long body. Thank you! What manufacturer does this info apply to?

7/4/2023 3:03pm I don't think what ever model is above will work. My current carb measurement "C" is only 76mm.

7/4/2023 11:04am Picked up an 89 YZ250...looking to replace the existing Mikuni TM38SS carb. I cant seem to find out what the current production model would be or if there is a compatable Keihin carb that will work for this bike? Any help would be appreciated.

5/16/2023 3:00pm On another note.....fresh oil change in the crank with a new gasket that evidently isn't doing whatbits supposed to do. Is this a sign the coolant and oil is mixing?

5/16/2023 6:20am Could be rich. Could be Lean. Could be powervalve. Could even be an airleak... the joys of old bikes! Start by pulling the carb and recording the settings. Check against the stock jetting specs in the manual. If the manual states 25:1, then that is what the standard jetting will be set for. However you can run up to 40:1, even 50:1 safely depending on oil, and obviously jetting properly to suit. I run my 1989 RM250 on 40:1 with 0 issues and very little spooge for reference.
