Long overdue update! Well, I wish I was documenting every hurdle that I had to overcome but that's the past...Today I finally got this bike going again! I had it running two years ago and took it out a few times but then ran into some shift dog problems. Most recently I couldn't get it started and cleaned the carb numerous times and figured maybe a new piston would help. So after that I was still having a no start issue and luckily ran across a post on here about the woodruff key being forgotten. That wasn't the case but...

A few months ago I decided to build a RMZ - Yamaha 2 stroke conversion. I had a 2019 RMZ250 and I bought a basket case 02 YZ250. The YZ unfortunately needed a cylinder and a crank rebuild so I bought a Magnum big bore kit a pro x rod and replacement crank stuffers. I have had this bike for 13 years now. I got out of racing 12 years ago so it has mostly sat, only riding it a couple times a year. Hey all! I've had an '04 CR250R I did one run at Lorretta's on back in 2013, and let it sit for 9 years while I switched to road racing. Now I'm in Colorado where road racing is non-existent, so the CR is starting a new chapter in CO's RMRA series. Below is how the bike currently sits. I'd like to go for a 2000's privateer look. Can some of the older crowd here post their favorite bikes of that era I can try to build from? I plan on sticking with the factory plastics, pipe and silver wheels. Thanks!

It is single stage doesn’t need a undercoat but you need to put it on really thick i found out or will show bare metal in spots . I found out from guy in Uk he said they use to powder coat them white first then the green but it was to late for me so this
