Hey, if you want to watch grown men flopping around like they just got shot when they only got tripped or bumped into, be my guest. I will have to deal with some of the bullshit surrounding that event coming to the area, and it can’t be gone soon enough.

I hadn’t considered their Super Bowl win impacting the race. Good for Seahawks and their fans but that really sucks for the track crew.

I rode Amatuer Night about 1983 (or so) at the Kingdome. It was pouring and we were staged on the north side. No walking the track, no rain protection. We were leaned up against the building dodging the pouring rain. Our class was called, to the starting gate we went. I had never been on the Kingdom floor! Talk about feeling like I was in Rome centuries ago and being thrown to the LIONS!!! 4 laps and it was over. I did it one more time a few years later and that was enough for me.............

Did I mention the awesome horse trough urinals? Standing shoulder to shoulder pissing, urine mist going everywhere whilst the line to fit into a spot at the trough was 5 or 6 deep like being at the finest feed lot.

Like Lumen is any better. It’s the same crappy stadium minus a roof. T-Mobile/Safeco/etc is a nice stadium-Lumen feels like you went to prison. At least with the Kingdome we didn’t care what the weather was like.

It had a roof....chairs that are no less comfortable then the current ones...and they played baseball and football in it so there was more square footage to make a track What more do you need?

Religiously: vital, pulp, MXA, Whiskey Throttle Occasionally: Swap I enjoy: 1) good interviews. Ping does a great job. I love the chronological approach with notes at the ready. Weege is great at interviews too...he is succinct and asks smart questions. The worst...and this goes for media scrum questions especially...is when the interviewer has a long drawn out preface to his question. "First of all great job tonight. I was just talking to someone about how you... obviously you're still working on the bike and we all know that you were.... tonight we saw you...." STFU and ask an intelligent question...

Pulp’s Podcasts Any podcast Big Lew does on Vital/Pulp Vital is the only media outlet where I will read written content of look at photos because it’s extremely well done. I’ll listen to Swap Moto’s podcast when they have a good guest on. Whiskey Throttle’s long form career retrospectives are also great That’s about it. Like I said in another thread, I think Vital and Pulp have surpassed Racer X as the highest quality and most entertaining media outlets.

I used to be a big Pulp listener, but I’ve only probably listened a handful of times in the last two years. It just got really repetitive and more and more of an advertisement focused show. I still listen to Steve’s race reviews when it was an intriguing race. Vital is my source for 95% of my Moto info these days.

I forgot about that. I think in my narrow and small mind, they would have moved it closer to the end of the season. Who knows, maybe as Cook441 noted, there is statistically less rain in Feb, either way, it will be cold and this isn't football. And I am still bitter about the Kingdome, and not using Safeco 😜

I think its rediculous that we cant use the baseball stadium and the roof if needed...on a side note my girlfriend did yhe research and it surprisingly rains much less in February vs March/April in Seattle...whoda known?

It almost seems by design for the Seattle race to be moved earlier in the season to get a crap weather race. Guaranteed to be cold, and likely to be wet. I know someone above mentioned it rarely rains all day in Seattle, I spent 50 years there and I can assure that is not true. It is the place that is famous for getting no more average precipitation than other places in the country, but DOES always have a steady, miserable, depressing, rain. With the race being in February now, I think the excuse of not using Safeco field...
