8/27/2024 12:37pm You can get all the 84-97 KTM manuals (parts, repair, owners) on an Australian site. Do a search for “Bolton KTM manuals 84) and you should be able to find them all. Just finished a 86 80 this fall

8/24/2024 4:23pm I picked up this 1990 KX500 in September of 2019. It shifted like a new bike, the frame, cases, etc were all 100% intact and it ran like it was full of diesel fuel instead of gasoline.
When i brought the bike home I welded up all the cracks in the pipe, tie-wired the busted exhaust mounts and dug into the carburetor. There was no main jet in the bike. I popped in some leaner jetting and some fresh race fuel and went out on my little track to feel out the bike. The 41mm forks with 0.39kg/mm spring...

8/22/2024 9:54pm It’s hard to say how much HP this 540/550 KTM make , there are almost no Information to find about these Bikes . The old Short Stroke 500 (85-88) make 62 HP the newer 500 (89-95) make 65 HP That 550 has a portet Cylinder, Boyesen Rad Valve , JSV Pipe and the 41 Keihin, maybe it came close to 70 HP, but yes a Dyno run would be interesting

8/22/2024 7:39am Some more Pictures from the Engine, for Comparison a 550-500-300 KTM Piston Carburator is a Keihin PWK 41 Pro On the Pictures the Custom Made Samarin Conrod from Spain These Parts (Piston-Conrod - Zylinder)are the only difference from 550-500 and 350 KTM, the rest Gear Box , Engine Cases , Clutch is almost the same on the 565 and 555 so it’s possible to interchange many parts on These 565 and 555 Engines
