Heard he paid $17k to ride the bike. But all jokes aside, I'm with Renner - he'll lead a lap.

@ML512…any discussion with sponsor about not sponsoring Brennan anymore? Or why he was at LL?

I'm no cnc guy but with things I know. A kit suspension is 8k then set up is another 1-2k in labor and that's for the average dude. Exhaust is 1.2k wheels are about 1k so yes the 17k was a steal and that's not even going into the engine a race spec engine that I can get from my mechanic is 4k or more

Kind of hard to "threaten" Yamaha unless Yamaha already had their hands dirty and had to make a choice. Threaten the livelihood of the dealership, its employees, and the kid following AMA rules... Or MAYBE... Be outed as willing accomplices of all but cheating on a world class stage to get the leg up on the competition.

Hence the rule. I wish the claimer would have had been recording the audio. As someone with manual and cnc machining background; if certain motor parts could truly not be bought off the shelf and were custom made ( designed, computer stress tested, revisions, material costs, labor, machined, heat treated, ground, etc.) ; I can not even begin to fathom that bike being under 2xs value of MSRP. Any other cnc machinists want to chime in?

One has not a dang thing to do with the other. One was invented here and the other overseas. One a bunch of bootlegging outlaws. The others motorcycle riders wanting to see who was fattest. 2 totally groups of people and fit the most part, bike guys stay within their rules much more often than the NASCAR boys do x100%. You sure curse a lot for no reason... What grade did you drop out of or was it your liver screaming? 🤦

It seems like a lot of this was blown out of proportion and Brennan didn't really mean any harm by this.

Bad look for Yamaha and Donnie Luce. If you don’t want a kid to claim the bike then don’t build a bike that’s worth more than the claiming rule amounts. It’s AMATEUR racing. Not pro racing for amateurs. The motors and suspension shouldn’t be the focus. Focus should be on the riders to develop and get better not to go Big Bore Brian on everyone and build the fastest engines. Sounds like it’s time for a stock engine rule like they have in karting.

Imo, if Yamaha did actually threaten to pull the bikes from the dealership, pull their business, threaten the income and jobs of the dealer and its employees; then it speaks volumes as to what factory Yamaha might have had in that bike...for an "amateur" race. Whoever made the decision for that alleged call to the kids dealership -sponsor is a low breed of human scum. -yahama rider since 1994
