You’re forgetting about the time he spent living in the attic of a race shop with the squirrels so he could race MXGPs. I bet I could find a video in the Feld archives where they speak about the adversity at length. I heard he didn’t have a crib, so he slept in a manger. Pretty confident MXGP riders typically have a fair amount of mud experience.

What's weird is the nobodies who are shit talking a Dad that helped his kid have a massively successful amateur career leading to one of the best Rookie Professional seasons we've seen in a long time. All because they are good at modern day marketing and that hurts some feelers....

I'm absolutely onboard with this suggestion. As others have pointed out having an industry heavyweight from one of the factories managing the MXON team is a conflict of interest, especially De Coster who seems to be a divisive figure among the team bosses. J-Bone has all the experience, he works (part-time) for the AMA, is respected by everyone in the pits, and is chill and conciliatory - meaning he can get the relevant players to the table and make sure everyone works together toward a common goal.

No conspiracy intended friend, it is just a really bad look. As I stated before nobody outside of industry insiders ever knows the whole truth in our sport, thus this seems unseemly. Again, can you imagine Austrian boss's sentiment if Decoster managed a winning USA team two times in a row with no Austrian bikes on team? As Matthes's guest this week stated more than once, in the future, no factory team managers will be affiliated with team USA, and that Decoster can't do this forever. Take what you will what that implies or what he was hinting at.

Don't be naive, the sport is about promotion of product. Matthes, ML and the like are great guys to be sure, but they can't tell us the whole story or nobody in the sport will divulge anything to them again.

Looking at it all three of these men could get top three in their class. As far as all being on the same brand, if this turns into a fiasco, it would look very bad for Decoster and Austria.
