That is an impressive amount! Best of luck to our friends from The Great White North

I skimmed this thread. Are there any examples of the content that got him banned? Like has Slowie himself or MX sports come out and said THIS is the stuff? Or are we all speculating? I would like to hear MX Sports specific reasons for booting him. I can understand not wanting to promote the wild nightlife part of the sport and make it seem like everybody is hammered and fighting. I could see it impact ticket sales, I know that in the past I have had people tell me they would never have brought their daughters to Unadilla in...

Slowie: making videos only some folks see DC: We don't like your videos cause they hurt my feels Slowie: ............. DC: AHA! You've been banned for LIFE!!! Everyone: Who is this slowie guy?? Let me go watch/subscribe to his videos!! Mission accomplished?

Fair point. I don't know much about Slowie at all, I was under the impression he posted a bunch of crash reels/highlights too. Doesn't Burkeen do that as well? That stuff as we all know is part of the sport but I don't think blowing it up all over social media is doing us any favors.

Because regardless of whether they are right or wrong, MXSports sees them both as public enemy #1.

Hiding the debauchery won't solve anything either. Places like Red Bud that have things like lot B (aka camp drunk and stupid) and then get upset when what goes on gets out in the public are shooting their own toes off in the name of the almighty dollar Nope, we'll just kick out seemingly harmless dudes like this guy over a grudge. I love and hate the sport all at the same time. The sport also needs to take a long hard look at safety of the participants especially the youth/minors. I have a feeling that is the domino...

Again, not a devout Slowie fan but I’m confused why him and Cooksey keep getting mentioned in the same sentence, I thought one made vlogs at the races and the other made TMZ style breaking news content, both completely different

Never heard of Slowie, didn't know about the diving incident, nor the bike hitting the spectator. Now I do, trying to control the narrative just makes things worse. You need to address the root cause. In the manufacturing and design world we have a saying, you can't inspect in quality. What that means is you can't consistently deliver good product merely by looking for defects before shipping, you have to reduce and strive to eliminate defects by addressing them in the design and manufacturing process. If bikes hitting spectators makes insurance too high, keep the bikes from hitting spectators. This...

I'm with ya. Can you imagine someone going to an NBA game, filming some drunken nonsense that happens on the concourse and then getting a lawyer letter banning said person from any NBA game? No? That's cause it would never happen. It's just wild that our industry is perfectly fine tossing people that don't say what "management" wants them to say. Hell, half the talking heads on ESPN are bagging on pro sports organizations for one reason or another...yet they are the biggest talking heads in those sports.

Slowie didn't really "say" much in most videos. He posts what he sees and experiences. So now we're at a point where we applaud MXSports in banning people that show things they don't want the public to see? I get they hate Cooksey and I can understand why...but banning people that are videoing things they don't want you to see is.......wild. DB makes fun of the "media" all the time...are they gonna blackball him, too?

He was showing a lot more of the "party atmosphere" in the pits, particularly at Red Bub. Sponsors, investors, and insurance companies see those videos and then that has an effect on MX sport's bottom line. Slowie only has about 20K subscribers, and Cooksey has 41K, but in a sport like MX that is enough to drive a media story. In many ways Youtube and social media has really saved the sport SX and MX, but it has also been a double sided sword in some instances.

typical horseshit from our industry. ML shows up to bash on the guy, but ignores 20+ page threads regarding actual real "news" that I guess "media" isn't allowed to talk about. And DC's list of banned folks gets longer and longer...and I suppose we're all getting a peek at why our media kisses his ring on the daily. This sport sometimes....🙄

Echoing the sentiment, I need to do more research and see what all of his content is about and if it’s really that bad, but banning someone from all MXSports because they said Jeremy Hand caused the red flag seems honestly tyrannical and a bit obnoxious. The insta vid slowie posted is a bad look, and I have no clue why he doesn’t take it down especially when he knows it’s false, but banning someone for a misinformed video seems even more obnoxious and like an unnecessary use of power.

The guy is very unique looking ill leave it at that. He stood out to me in pictures before I ever knew of his youtube. I agree with all the info avaliable it is a bit excessive.

Simple fact is Slowie and Matt both show crashes and mayhem that MX Sports doesn't want seen. Then you throw in some of the after race hours shenanigans that Slowie shows and it really goes sideways for him. Matt has spoken of this before and was told if he would basically just show the racing he would be let in but he wouldn't bend the knee.

So do they have his picture at the gate? How do they enforce this? I get not giving him media access but this seems a bit excessive

Considering not many people know what caused this, isn’t the action a bit much? Then again, that’s moto media. “What did he do to get banned for life?” “Idk, no one would give a clear answer.”

The video thats posted on here from instagram should of been deleted I will agree. The thread from last year when Michael said he asked Davey and got his response that he asked for a media pass mid way into lorettas is a lie. Slowie had a video out well before lorettas stating that they wouldn't give him a media pass for that year but he was going anyway. So either Connor (slowie films) was lying about no media pass midway thru July. (Which i doubt why would he) Or DC made that up to sound better and not tell...

It is excessive. Unfortunately, MX Sports has complete control. VitalMX, PulpMX, and any other media outlet knows it's wrong but won't say sh*t because it will cost them their paychecks. I don't blame them, but I do feel sorry for the position they are in. If anyone could say something, it'd be Matthes, but he won't because they are all buddies. I get the Cooksie ban, but Slowie is just a fan.
