The three digit riders get to choose their number as long as its available. There are no stipulations other than availability to choose a 3 digit number.

That makes sense for sure. But what about Tomita who raced every round but Hangtown? Why wouldn't he want to get an ama licence to be able to run a two digit number that he earned this summer.

Everyone needs to chill out on this number system. It is not a difficult system to understand. Combined point for supercross an motocross. Top 10 in combined point or champs get to choose a career number .Pretty easy to understand. The confusing part does come when riders can petition to keep permanent numbers ie; js7. Has to be hard to leave a guy like that out when guys who have never had a 250 podium have rides. ie Dakota Alix, Kyle Cunningham (may have a podium in sx once or twice a few years ago), filthy Phil (his ride makes sense, i'm just throwing this out there).

Jordan Smith will be on Rockstar husky with zacho in sx, Also rumor is star racing will make room for Mitchell Harrison. So that leaves on open spot on the tld team. Rockstar husky will have the rookie to sx mosiman, (do not remember if its josh or Michael)
