dizzy8085 Added a reply to What stickers do you run on your bike?

I run fork/shock stickers because factory connection slaps them on anyway when I get the suspension done and it looks good. Besides that I don't run any stickers on my bike. I like the way the bike looks without stickers all over it.

I just got the orange set last week. Bright orange set you always see the geico guys in. Bto stocks it. Get some percentage off with "steve" in the coupon code box.
I'm a 450 guy, but if I could have a second bike it would be one of those. I had the pleasure of spinning a few laps on a sand track a few months back, on a 2012 150sx. It was a blast! It reminded me of a supermini, but bigger.

The 250f's are running faster times because of the riders riding them. You can't compare lap times of different riders, against different competition, and on the track at different times. It's apples to oranges. You put baggett, barcia, and tomac on 450's and let them race against dungey, reed, and villapoto. No one will be putting close to those lap...
Exactly. Not only do you have to spend 15k on the 250f. It will only last a couple races at that level. The 450's will go all season. Derek Anderson almost got the holeshot 1st moto at elsinore on his bike. I'm pretty sure it's fairly stock sans the pipe. Phil nicoletti got I think a 6th overall on a...

dizzy8085 Added a reply to powder coating rims

Spend 300 dollars on a set of black DID dirtstar rims. They lace up to the stock hubs and spokes. If you've got 8k for a fresh 450. You can manage 300 for some rims instead of powercoarding them. It's not going to look good. That said. I'm uber jealous. I've been drooling over those 13's all day.
Nothing to see here guys. The manufactures have given up on 450's since they are going the way of the dinosaur in 3 to 5 years according to this thread. Definitely not a bike with a fresh frame, plastics, swimg arm, forks, ect......

I agree for sure. It's amazing how competitive a mostly stock 450 is. Derek almost pulled the holeshot first moto at elsinore and he's not a small dude.
The 250f's will never be the premier class. When the 125's and 250 2 strokes ran. Sometimes the 125's lap times matched the 250's also. It was pretty obvious dungey had more in the tank. He just didn't have anyone to push him, and in contrast the lites guys were battling with each other from start to finish pushing each...
He said on one of the podcasts that he will be running whatever gear the pro circuit team is running. He mentioned that Alpinestar is more worried about influencing people to wear Alpinestar boots with other gear companies rather than wear Alpinestar gear because it isn't even available in the U.S.

Everyone hating on 450's are overlooking one point. They actually give privateers a chance. A stock 450 with a pipe is competitive. Phil Nicoletti proved that this past weekend. Do you think Derek and Saye would have a shot at riding the whole outdoor series as privateers on 250f's. They either wouldn't be fast enough bikes, or their practice and...

dizzy8085 Added a reply to Van or Truck - Which is Best and Why?

If my daily driver has to be my moto transportation I choose truck. I wouldn't want to drive a Van every day. Now to add a second vehicle just to ride motocross. A van is the way to go.
