I raced at Broken Spokes a few times when I followed the district 12 ama series. Was an awesome track and I remember swimming in the nice pond they had and riding around the pits on a mini chopper. Was a really nice facility. I do remember the track on top of the hill and being told that Sellards owned it or something but never got to see him ride it.

Any locals remember Broken Spokes in New Philadelphia?? I lived in Akron/Canton area for a couple years when I was in middle school... that was the first motocross track I ever rode when I got my CR80.. anyways, here's a cooler story... These guys objecting to the price don’t understand the hottest commodity in today’s age is nostalgia. But some people just want to spew their disgust without validity or means. Makes them feel like they know better than to be hoodwinked. They don’t realize it just makes them look like a bitch who doesn’t understand market. Anyway... Someone could look up the price, but I’m guessing he’s asking near original MSRP. Given that it still has stock everything, tires included, I would say it’s worth full MSRP.

I agree that it could be suspect, but it can also happen if the owner was just trail riding in the woods. My brother's 1988 250 yz was mint like that ... until i rode it a bit in enduro for 2 hours... (tires, tank with the knee braces, frame wear ... he was mad, but the bike was decalaminated )

Then you arent the target audience for it. I sold one just like it for 4500 in under a week. So it wasnt like it sat waiting for the right buyer for months.

The moto industry is more fragile and emo sensitive about their relationships than The Bachelorette, so it's generally unwise to say anything that could come off as negative and rejecting the product obviously sounds negative. However, just like any topic out in the world, our outrage shouldn't exceed the outrage of those actually involved, so if Monster doesn't care, then I don't care, though....even if they do care, I still don't care.

So basically according to your mindset, back in the day all of the riders should have smoked a pack of Camel cigarettes everyday? Let the Chad, Joey, and whomever else tell it like it is. If Tampax wanted to pay me $1million to advertise on my truck, I'd sure as hell take their money without using the product regardless of how many vitards say I use them to support my sponsor.

I feel like the tone of his comment was that of someone just talking to a friend. Probably should have been more cognoscente of the audience and that this is a public interview, but it just sounded like honesty from friend to friend rather than hating on an old sponsor.

Nowhere did he say he hated Monster, just that he or his kids didn't drink it. Surprise! : It's not very good for you. It's like candy in a can. Not really what top level athletes wants in their body.
