You're pretty similar to me, except I stand a towering 1" taller than you and live in the south lol I use to have a KX250F, I loved the bike don't get me wrong. But I couldn't go fast on it. Got a KTM 150 and won my first race on it. I'd suggest you pick up a 125, IMO...

Half was being nice. Not that I can talk, I haven't ridden an aluminum framed yz125 (have rode a 250 though lol) nor have I rode a 16 KTM. If you've ridden an aluminum yami and a 2016 KTM.... where do you live and will you adopt me?

Read the Q@A with Gared Steinke. He raced a yz and sx in the nationals this year, and he said the KTM is way better. Half the people responding on here haven't ridden either one, or only ridden one. Nor do they know how to ride. Fyi the 16 KTM is even better than the 14 Steinke was racing this...

Yeah, get the Yamaha. The bike with several threads about electrical issues lol Get a Kawi or KTM/Husky. The motor on the KX is unbeatable but you can never go wrong with the orange bikes

Trying lowering the bike instead. A heavier 250F isn't going to help just because it's a little closer to the ground

Depends, in moto. I ride the widest line I can. Everyone on the track is in the same class as me, so we should all be similar speed. In hare scrambles, I tend to let people by. So many different classes, there's a good chance the person behind me isn't in my class and I really am holding them up...

Not always, I sucked on my KX250F. Just couldn't get comfortable. Loved the bike but I was nervous to make it turn lol

At your speed, get a 2 stroke and save your money. You might gain some speed from riding an underpowered 125. Forces you to be more aggressive. For a twitchy bike, just get a Scott's damper. I get head shake on everything, even my mountain bike. But with Scotts, I rarely get it. And I can ride for longer before...

If you wanna have fun they'll all work. I'd suggest a RM but clearly money is an issue. So buy whatever is the best deal
