First Ktm got a good deal on it and some suspension. I plan on putting the 2014 graphics and plastic on it. Al ready has been ported and polished. I got a really good deal on a set of 52mm cone valves forks and trax shock.

I have had a few 125's the last couple of years but never owned a Ktm. I have not even started this thing as it has been sitting for quite sometime so I am going to do a top end and re spring the suspension. Hoping they hype about the motor is true.

I started putting the suspension on the bike and getting it ready for a top end. I must say that I am not impressed with the way this bike is put together vs an 02 Japanese bike. I will say that everything even the bolts seemed light but all cheaply made. I hope the new Ktm's are put together a little better than what they did in 2013. The hype of how much faster these 125 are vs the others I hope is there. Maybe once the bike is back together and I ride ill have a better take on it. Hind site I got the shock and forks on I will need to ride them and see how much stiffer the springs will need to be. They aren't to far off from my other stuff spring rate wise. Don't flame to hard due to me working on a dirty bike. I just really wanted to get the suspension on.

I'm with ya man, I was just telling someone the other day how glad I was I don't have any galvanized bolts on my bike anymore..... "fit and finish" the 02 Honda will win..... but in terms of tolerances and machining I think KTM beats the hell out of the Big 4 and their mass production

I'm gonna change all the galvanized bolts out to more of a Honda style body work bolt and clamp bolts. After that just have to see how it rides and how the power is. I'm hoping its out performs my 02 cr with a 134 kit l. I will be totally happy then.

Not sure how much you weigh but I've been changing oil levels on my new cone valves and it makes a big difference. Very stoked on how they feel!

Where did you end up with spring rates and oil level?

I think it's .45 or .46 I forgot exactly off the top of my head. I tried them with 350cc of oil but was bottoming a few times at Glen Helen. I drained that oil and went with 380cc which feels great! The higher oil level let me back off the compression a few clicks and still have about an inch or so travel left. Right now I'm running 8 out on compression and 15 out on rebound. I'll ride them again tomorrow at Glen Helen but happy with the direction they are going!

I weigh 185 ish depending on the week. These forks have a .45 front spring and a 4.7 rear which is very close to my showas. I run a 4.8 and .46 front in my A kit. I am not sure of the oil level. The guy I got em from has the set up sheet he's gonna give it to me. I'm going to try this first see how it acts. I'm thinking that my forks are gonna be ok with a few changes with oil level and clickers. The shock is going to be soft I'm afraid. Billy from power band says this setting is more of a 145-165 lb rider set up so I'm going off that.

looking good! that popped up end of the seat is driving me nuts though, is the seat pan tweaked?

get you some older model OEM orange fork guards that dont wrap around. so much nicer to remove when you dont have to pull the dang wheel and fork off to take them off.

Yeah the seat is broken. Yeah I will get the older fork guards next time. I actually cheated and cut them because I had everything together already and was not about to take the fork back off. First Ktm. I'm learning what is good and bad. 1st the galvanized bolting I hate and then the fork wraps. Both can be changed other than that I'm liking everything else.

i agree. only thing i dont like about mine is the bolt coating. everything else is engineered really well and thought out brilliantly.

In the beginning yeah they were. There are lots of thing you can do to make those cr's run really well. Mine had a Hpp cylinder punched out to a 134. It was a good bike. I guess what I'm getting at is 11 year newer technology should be a faster bike even at 9cc smaller.

I'm fairly sure I saw in one of those american MX mags about how they put KTM fork guards on a CRF with no mods so if thats true CRF guards could bolt right onto your KTM.

I've seen a few local guys just slice them in the back so they can peel them off but they still look in tact...

Not really with the 2ts as the engines are basically the same technology wise and the saying of There is no replacement for displacement is true!LOL The only reason KTM gets higher power ratings is the engines are at a higher state of tune from the factory although there not overall tuned Jetting wise mainly as far as the engine. The CRs where im guessing tuned for the upper rev's and sacrificed some mid's and a lot of bottom end making them seam a bit weak, I've never had one so i'm just going by what i've read on the internet. That's a sweet scoot as i'm sure your CR is, keep us posted on the work.

Well the suspension is sold so in going to put the bike back together ride it see how I like it. If it turns out to be as good as everyrhjng I've read I will be on the hunt for a 16 150sx.

Well I got the bike together and finally got to ride it. I must say the motor is actuall very good and pulls strong even better than my Honda Hpp big bore 134cc. More pleased than what I thought. The big kicker is the stock suspension did well for me at 190lbs. It does not have the 4cs forks. I really don't have anything to say negative about the bike. I may go with a stiffer spring rate and that will be it. If I change to anything I'll go with the SSS drop ins. I really don't see anything being changed though. After reading all the horror stories I'm a bit confused. I couldn't complain to much about the forks from everything I've read. Maybe it's the heavier bikes that are making the forks act so terrible on a 125 seemed decent. Just my .02.
