I feel like people get real nasty these days for putting up any type of fight for position. But I also feel like just because I know I'm faster than someone doesn't mean they should just bow out and move over when I come up on them.
I'm not saying straight dirty your way into staying ahead of someone through take outs, but is it acceptable to take lines away, and check up in different spots. How long is it acceptable for ?
Im guilty of riding a wide bike. Usually get real good starts and I fade. But I have a problem just letting guys by. I don't try to take out, but I feel like I'll make them work for a pass not only with speed but with their brain. Maybe half of its because I used to race the same 4-5 kids back in 2000-2004 and we all were nearly the same pace and always racing hard for position.
Now you race people hard and the first thing they want to do is punch you at the checkered flag because in their opinion all you did was hold them up for two laps?
How many of you just give up position with no fight and how many of you make people work to pass you? I feel like riders 25+ race like I do. But kids 15-25 kind of expect you to get out of their way and want the position handed to them....almost like it's an entitlement.
Thoughts?

But really I don't have that problem often, I get awful starts and just work my way up lol
We get to the finish line which was a small tabletop after a tight corner and as I'm rolling over it she pulled up beside me and kicked my left radiator shroud sending me off the side of the jump, over some tires, and nearly into the score tower!
Probably didn't help that I was looking back every time we were going into a corner.
We knew each other pretty well and she was super friendly but, she was a fricken black belt in Karate and could have kicked 9 shades of shit outta my skinny arse! She was pitted across from me and giving me the biggest death stare... I was shatting myself, but she was cool after that
I saw the MXGP of USA highlights and noticed Grant appear to stick his leg out as Webb went by. Made me laugh because I did the exact same thing a few years ago. Battled hard the whole moto, guy got a runon me on the last straightaway to the checkered flag and I was doing everything in my power to avoid getting passed. Held on by a bike length! As I idled back through the pits I came to my senses and it didn't seem like such a good idea, but it was just natural instinct at the time.
T boning is just being idiotic, and to do that there better be $1 million on the line.
Pit Row
Rubbin is racing....
Some of you guys sure are proud of going slow to keep someone behind you. That doesn't sound like any fun to me.
Xracerdone must go pretty slow.. he needs to brake check little kids on 60's and 85's to get past them, or perhaps to keep them from passing him.
Id say this is too wide.
